Hudson Valley Medi-Coach/ Mike Bodisch

Please note, the following is generated after consultation with the NYS DOH Bureau of EMS.

In the last week, the Hudson Valley Regional EMS office has received several telephone calls from EMS service administrators and EMS providers requesting information regarding Hudson Valley Medicoach and a Mike Bodisch. Callers advise that a Mr. Mike Bodisch has been accosting EMS providers in Ulster County and Dutchess County hospital parking lots and handing them hand written flyers with information regarding a start-up ambulance service. The flyer indicates there are employment opportunities.

The Hudson Valley Regional EMS office is unaware of any ambulance service or proposed ambulance service named Hudson Valley Medicoach with designs to operate within the Hudson Valley Region.

Please advise your EMS providers to verify the legitimacy of any individual or agency they interact with prior to providing their personal information, including their Social Security number, date of birth, banking information, etc.

If anyone feels they have been a victim of fraud or identity theft, please direct them to contact their local law enforcement agency.

All information seems to point towards this guy being a con artist and vagrant/migrant worker. If you are approached please report him to local Law Enforcement. I am willing to bet they would like to speak to him.

Unless and until this individual/company receives statutory authority from the Department of Health to operate an ambulance or ambulette service in NYS and/or the Hudson Valley Region, he won't be operating anything - legally. If he doesn't have a Certificate of Need and has to go through that process it will be quite some time before he starts operating. Given the competitive nature of the CON process and the existing providers in the region, there is no guarantee he will get one either.

Regardless, protect your identity and don't give him or anyone else personal information without verifying the authenticity of their "company".

The website lists no address for it's "headquarters" or "satellite offices throughout the region" so I don't know how credible that is either.
