What Rescue is this?

7 posts in this topic

or is it a new one to replace an older rescue? I looked at Ferrara's website and all the new Mack Rescues have the storgae behind the can and have painted wheels and say FDNY Rescue on the sides.

Rescue 1 running a spare in the form of the 2002 Mack/General Safety that was acquired (donated?) after 9/11. It also shared duty as the short-lived Rescue 6, along with the "Spirit of Oklahoma" Freightliner.

Five new rescues are being constructed on Ferrara custom chassis. The new Rescue 5 is finished and as of this writing is on display at the Long Island Fire, Rescue & EMS Mega Show at Nassau Coliseum. At some point during the construction process, they switched out the wheels for Alcoa polished aluminum, like the current E-One rescues have.

What new Mack Rescue's ?

I believe that the newer Mack trucks were to replace the high rise rescues and I believe a few other Special Operations rescue support trucks. Sorry don't have any pictures though.
