Driving it Home: NYSP Crack Down on Distracted Drivers

3 posts in this topic

The New York State Police have launched an aggressive campaign to crack down on distracted drivers.

The article and video state the the NYSP plans to unveil 40 CITE vehicles, which stands for Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement. Im glad to see that the State Police are using "unmarked" vehicles more regulary for patrol purposes. I truly believe that this will help them tremendously to crack down on all facets of traffic enforcement.

Yea, I'm seeing more and more unmarked Tahoes these days. I think before the state had some very strict rules regarding the use of unmarked vehicles for patrol use but that is slowly going away...

I thought that, going back numerous years, that the NYSP stopped using unmarked cars for traffic stops/violations. I am guessing that this has changed?
