Does anyone know if the multi-function switch and the airbag clockspring are the same thing?

I would say no. SRS systems are always the yellow wires in the car. I would bet my left nut that they will not be intertwined with anything else other than the SRS system.

Actually on this car the multifunction switch and the clock spring are one unit. 27east check your PMs

You are correct about the wires being yellow and different. The on this vehicle has 2 wire harnesses coming off of it, one for the airbag and one for all of the other features, like the multifunction switch.
