Pierce Introduces Redesigned Saber And Enforcer Chasis

4 posts in this topic

Pretty nice. I remember talking to one of our commissioners last week. He was in Appleton while they were building these behind closed doors.

Nice to see they're updating they're lower end chassis. Gives departments on a budget more options. I like it, it'll be nice to see some of the configurations that come out. I love having a song solid windshield as opposed to a 2 piece.

Don't get me wrong, I love Pierce, it seems Pierce is trying to be everything to everybody with their chasis. How the heck are you supposed to choose a chasis with all their choices? And most are just cosmetic differences. That's one of the reasons I love Seagrave ......basically one cab with different sizes fits all. Kinda the same with Spartan (a lot of chasis based off one), and KME.

But it's smart for them to aim towards the "value" end of the market....their Saber/Contender line has been one of their strongest. I think you will see a LOT of these in Texas.

Pierce is pretty dominate in Texas, especially in SETX and San Antonio and Austin area. Other than Pierce, it's Spartan and Rosenbauer. A lot of the current Ferrara depts are moving to either Pierce, Spartan, or Rosenbauer. I have seen the rare Seagrave and Stuphen. And Ft Worth has 2 new Smeals. But they are few and far between the other 3.

I understand what you're saying though. There are ALOT of cab options with Pierce. Personally I lean toward Velocity or Arrow XT. Quantums are huge lol. But I like what they've done with these 2 chassis.
