Next-generation Oshkosh P-19R gives Marines greater versatility for firefighting missions

OSHKOSH, Wis. (April 9, 2014) — Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK), is displaying the U.S. Marine Corps’ new firefighting vehicle, the Oshkosh P-19 Replacement Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), this week at Marine South, April 9-10 at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Three Oshkosh P-19R prototype vehicles currently are undergoing testing with the Marine Corps. Once fielded, the P-19R will replace the Marine Corps’ P-19A fleet, which was first fielded in 1984 and is reaching the end of its service life.
