NYPD Detective/ANG/West Harrison Resident Joseph Lemm Killed In Afghanistan

This hits extremely close to home for many reasons. For those who know Port Chester Firefighter Ryan Cantatore (currently stateside but previously served over there), he was in his unit.

RIP. Thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your service.

A New York City police detective who was among six American service members killed in a suicide bombing on Monday in Afghanistan was on his third tour of duty in the Middle East, officials said.

The detective, Joseph Lemm, 45, who lived in Westchester County, was killed when a Taliban suicide bomber on a motorcycle drove into a military convoy near Bagram Air Base.

This guy had it all. A good job, great family,a nice house, and gave it all up to protect us from terrorists. He didn't do it because he had to, he did it because he wanted to. RIP.
