...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY THIS EVENING...

PARTLY SUNNY SKIES WILL PREVAIL THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON...WHICH WILL HELP PUSH TEMPERATURES INTO THE LOWER AND MID 80S. A STRONG COLD FRONT APPROACHING FROM THE WEST WILL ACT ON THE VERY WARM...HUMID AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS IN PLACE TO TRIGGER NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...AND VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WITH LOCALIZED FLOODING...WITH THE GREATEST THREAT OVER THE HUDSON VALLEY AND NORTHERN NEW JERSEY.

PEOPLE IN AREAS FROM NEW YORK CITY NORTH AND WEST...ESPECIALLY THOSE TRAVELING NORTH AND WEST LATER TODAY IN PREPARATION FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND...SHOULD KEEP AN EYE TO THE SKY...MONITOR THE LATEST NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECASTS...AND BE PREPARED FOR POSSIBLE WATCHES OR WARNINGS THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING.
