Elected officials who use scanners ?

Anybody know know if their local trustees, councilmembers, Mayors, etc., are into scanning? Surprisingly, a major NYC dealer told me that politicans were more into scanning fire rather than police.

In Buchanan, there is a scanner at the Village Hall. I don't believe that anyone monitors it at all times, but i believe they scan certain frequencies.

The scanner is right outside the office of the Village Administrator.

I know our Mayor and trustees are very involved with emergency services in the Village. Whenever we have a major fire, or even some minor fires, you can often see the Mayor & some Trustees present on the scene. Our Mayor has actually come out to fires, no matter what time of day or night and purchased water & other refreshments to hand out.
