/O.NEW.KOKX.WS.A.0002.051209T0600Z-051209T2200Z/ SOUTHERN FAIRFIELD-SOUTHERN NEW HAVEN-HUDSON-SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER- NEW YORK (MANHATTAN)-BRONX-RICHMOND (STATEN ISLAND)- KINGS (BROOKLYN)-QUEENS- 321 PM EST WED DEC 7 2005

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE REGION LATE THURSDAY NIGHT...BECOMING STEADIER AND HEAVIER TOWARDS DAYBREAK.

THE SNOW MAY FALL HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON...BUT DEPENDING ON THE EXACT TRACK AND STRENGTH OF THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM...

THE SNOW MAY MIX WITH RAIN FOR A WHILE. BY THE TIME THE ACTIVITY TAPERS OFF LATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON THE POTENTIAL IS THERE FOR SIX OR MORE INCHES OF TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW...SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL. THIS STORM IS FORECAST TO BE MUCH STRONGER AND PRODUCE MUCH MORE SNOWFALL THAN THE ONE THAT AFFECTED US EARLIER IN THE WEEK...SO RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED TO PREPARE AND TO CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.

I gotta admit - this one i'm actually looking foward to. For once. I'm scheduled to work my "b" job at Westchester EMS, so it should be fun in the snow. A change of pace from the typical day of EMS transports.

LET IT SNOW!!!

I hate the snow. I guess I'll be plowing all night and day. Even though it's OT I still hate it. I work for the DPW in Harrison. Were ready to rock and roll, We'll some of us anyway. Stay safe.

All in all, i gotta say i enjoyed this one. Yeah, it took me an hour and a half to drive from Croton to Mt Kisco, and an hour from there to White Plains, but I made it there safe, which is what counts.

Haha - I even got into a snowball fight with two other WEMS crews, and a Transcare Medic in the WP ER bay. It was great until one of the emt whimped out and retreated to his ambulance. He wishes to remain anomaly...I mean anonymous :P:) . I have to say, a good time was had by all.
