POLICE CAR INVENTORY POLICY?

2 posts in this topic

Is it common practice for police depts to make annual inventories of their vehicles?

Had read about this in Bratton's autobiography as being done when he ran the Boston PD and I wondered if all police agencies do it. Is it commonly done only on January first???

Thank You.

Annual inventory is common practice in my area, Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville NC. Never done on January 1st. Usually in the spring. They call it an inventory/inspection. They inspect the vehicles, uniforms, and other issued items. Fayetteville has held theirs at the local colliseum. Its a cool to see all the different vehicles lined up. Raleigh and Durham employee somewhere around 650 sworn officers each. Fayetteville in the 300s. Not the northeast but hope it helps.
