Hartsdale School/Condo Blaze 1986 PFP

Fire Damages School condos

A smoky fire caused extensive damage to a 65-year old Hartsdale school building that was being converted into condominiums.The entrire top floor of the red brick building was gutted by fire , which started at approx. 10:30am March 10 1986

Just a question about the Silver gear in the pictures. Was that a variation of the gear the crash crews at the airports used to wear?.

Looking at the picture of Engine 175 I see that they used Storz LDH back then... when did storz first start to show up in Westchester? Was Fairview the first to use it in the area?

Around 1980 , FFD has had 4 inch supply line starting early 80's.
