  1. So Orange County residents and NYS Residence will also help foot the bill for Newburgh!
  2. Sad part is that the Cirrus track record of fatal accidents is higher then average, even with the parachutes. Awesome aircraft though.
  3. That heli is a awesome tool, it can find a nedle in a haystack from 2000 feet up! I recall listening to the first Yonkers incident, awesome how they caugh this guy. As the poster stated, it is huge issue getting worse.
  4. Yep, those little ones can do it. Believe ot or not.
  5. Sounds fair and straight forward to me. Good policy.
  6. You are 100% correct about rig placement, and that is very important, but, the blue flashing lights make a big difference, especially when moving. It makes the vehicle much more pronounced and it stands out much clearer and further away, letting those every few people, was we all know, move to the side. It makes no difference what color for the rest of the lamebrains because they would not move no matter what color the lights were.
  7. Personally, if this is for safety, which is certainly is, as blue makes a HUGE difference both day and night, it should not matter to anybody.
  8. Yeah, the problem is they have this stupid slot system at the airport to appease all the people who built mansions overlooking the airport who complain about noise. Gotta lov eit, build a mansion near an airport or within 20 miles of an airport's flight path and then complain about noise.
  9. The Chevy Impala's were MUCH worse. Fords announced today they are releasing a pursuit rated 2011 Ford Explorer shortly.
  10. I still have no idea how a test question can be discriminatory.
  11. Here is a idea....If PEDSTRUK does not like it, he can simply not look at the site any longer. Simple solution, problem solved.
  12. There is no money in EMS services, please, they will spend more time transporting skells for free. There may be money to be made in transports, but in just providing emergency transport and services, doubtful.
  13. I heard that they took over there and W.P. at midnight last night, but I can not confirm that and it may be incorrect.
  14. That is the current paint scheme they should stick with rather than that hideous 1451.
  15. I think this new scheme is horrible! The current scheme is just fine. There must be a reason for the change. I think the white is much better for visibility and safety, and, I think the orange "County" on the blue back door is ugly, please change that, at least. I would think that getting cars other than all white, or all 1 color, are probably more expensive too.
  16. Just to set the record straight before I get bashed, I am not saying anything bad about them. I just see a few issues with how they do things. On another note, Orange County just spent millions on a Emergency Ops Center, I see no reason why a village with 22,000 residents needs to have a Emergency Ops Center, paid for by tax payer money, Sorry, that is pure pork!
  17. Free lancing, isn't that what that department down in Rockland was doing, the ones who created their own department with a makeshift truck and old equipment, LOL.
  18. I do not really care either way, however, thre may be some departments or individuals who do not like to see apparatus and manpower from a village 30 miles away driving up to their scene without calling for them. I am pretty sure that there may be a few legal and liability issues with this also.
  19. You are correct in my thinking. Kiryas Joel likes to show up on scenes well outside their jurisdiction without being requested or asked for. They are infamous for doing this at auto accidents and have been known to respond to jurisdictions well outside their jurisdiction even if that department is operating with its own manpower and equipment and not using any mutual aid at all.
  20. I am not talking about that kind of self-dispatch. I am talking about when they show up on their own with no request 30 miles away from their jurisdiction to "help out."
  21. They also like to "self dispatch" to calls and incidents, and are known to show up outside of their jurisdiction on their own. I guess they are trying to be helpful, not sure if I agree or not agree with how they do this.
  22. I believe they are required by law on firetrucks and ambulances now, correct?
