I got this message earlier this week and thought some departments might want to meet with her.
Dear Volunteer Fire Company,
My name is Liz Slutzky-Cahill and I was recently appointed by FASNY as the Assistant Volunteer Programs Coordinator for the Hudson Valley Region (Columbia, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Sulllivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties). As you may know, the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) secured a US Department of Homeland Security "Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response" (SAFER) grant to address the vital need for volunteers. I will be your regional representative to assist with new volunteer recruitment and and retention through the SAFER grant.
I look forward to meeting with a chief, line officer, or recruitment coordinator (if you have already designated one) in each of the 329 fire companies in my region. My goal is to assist you in taking full advantage of the SAFER Initiative, from which you will be able to utilize the online auto-referral system once it launches on June 4th. In the meantime, I am asking that you or a member of your company please do the following:
- Reply to this email or call me as soon as possible to set up a brief meeting at your fire house, so that I may introduce you to the SAFER program and assist you with completing any online forms (or forward this to the applicable member of your fire department). I would like to schedule this within the next two weeks.
- Visit FASNY's website here, and complete the Fire Department Information Form.
- I am also asking that you forward this email on to any other companies in the region I have listed, so that I may schedule meetings with as many companies as possible.
I appreciate your time, and of course all that you do for your community. I can be contacted at any time at this email address (until I have my new one through FASNY), or can be reached by cell at (518) 788-0587. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
Liz Slutzky-Cahill

I found this video of the King Court Apartment Fire on Youtube just a little while ago on my lunch.
-
I watched it and thought it went over events as they happen it well.
For me it was great for them to get another doc look at the Autopsy and say everything is correct and then to have the family paid investigator confirm the blood test along with a DNA sample provided by the family. The toxic report is essential to this case because it shows that she was drunk and high, the reasons weather be medical or emotional are irrelevant. She decided to operate a vehicle in an impaired condition and murder those people.
I was surprise they showed a few close up photos of her body after the accident, which I thought was in bad taste.<br>

You got my vote, but keep the pressure on your local town board especially when it comes time to get that franchise agreement renewed.
You might want to tell the state about this issue and see if they can do anything. I doubt it they can do anything but it can hurt to make some noise at the state level.
I would also run the state broadband test and get yourself listed as not having broadband.

You won't get to much from the fire grounds unless you are about 2 miles for the incident, at least based on the equipment I have. The two channels worth scanning is the dispatch and the command /response where you can usually hear county talking to fire command and equipment responding.
Also note that F1 uses two different frequencies, county transmits on one frequency and field units transmit on another.
I just received a scanner for Christmas, and got a ton of frequencies in. But I've noticed that Ulster County is silent after dispatches. All of the fireground frequencies are silent, and I was told this was because they use Low Band Simplex.(?) Whereas Dutchess County uses a repeater, so I can hear them perfectly. Can anyone give any information on this?

I don't think you can legally reject a person based on age but I think their actual activity could only be limited to what a physical clears them for.
