  1. Most pagers do not have PL's. If the pager is open then you can hear whatever is on the freq--if you are in range. I hear some unfamiliar broadcasts on the 453.275 link on my radio--with the pl. I can't figure out if my radio is messing up or whoever it in (upstate I think) is using the same PL.
  2. So much for a discreet and private frequency huh?? LOL
  3. You forgot to mention the mic. on the console--taken from White Castle
  4. Okay--a little organization. I click on a topic that says Pound Ridge Parade--I want to see things about the parade--not radio discipline. This should be moved to a thread of its own for furthur discussion. And--for the record--Putnam does county wide announcements every Sunday at 9 am. Now are there any results or comments pertaining to hte actual parade?
  5. So--back to the real topic--did the parade happen or not????
  6. Interesting note. I was on the entry team and I don't recall being informed about any can of spray insulation anywhere. And by entry team I am referring to PCHMRT entry, not FD entry. Yes there were aerosol cans in the fire room. No it didn't look like spray insulation. Yes 2 investigators were sent to the hospital for evaluation--they were treated and released. After initial size up, runoff testing, and air sampling--it was determined that the contents were ordinary household consumables. There were a few ruptured containers mostly food containers, and also a few aerosol cans.
  7. Time for an alarm system? On the topic of automatic alarms-- NEVER THINK THAT "PESKY" AUTOMATIC ALARM IS JUST ANOTHER FALSE ALARM.
  8. Can't say if North Highlands did the standby but they were behind us in the sixth division. The wait was worth it for the Valley. Best tanker and Best Non Reg out of county!!! Congrats to all!!!
  9. In all honesty--we get dispatched off 2 towers--1 of which is in town. We still have some fairly large dead spots. There are spots that mobile radio's don't always receive the message. The siren is a good supplement to voice and alpha/text messaging. There are times when the ipage takes 30 minutes--or even a day to get through--depends on the coverage of your provider. If you are out in the yard, you hear the siren and you know you have a call--head for the firehouse. Seems that the siren is the dated technology--but rarely fails. Like it was said in an earlier post--you buy a house near an airport--YOU ARE GOING TO HEAR AIR TRAFFIC, You live near a fire station--you are going to hear sirens. Something to consider before you buy??? And as my parents live in Mahopac, I happen to like the new, energy efficient siren.
  10. Congrats on the birth of your daughter--what a cutie!!!! Hope mom and baby (and you) are acclimating to your new life together. 7 weeks since my son was born--enjoy every minute--it really does go by so fast. Just remember--sleep when you can.
  11. Without a doubt Rescuestuff. I also believe they are a sponser of this site as well. 914-293-7239 or use the handy link 585 put in his post.
  12. I wonder who the dealer is? Can't be B.H. can it?
  13. That is a damn good idea. I just might have to steal it!!! Better yet--I am going to steal it!!!! BTW--are you going to reveal the secret White Castle Emergency compartment on 119?
  14. Why do I get the feeling you are referring to someone specific? And yes there will be a wet down--more than likely in the spring.
  15. The "official" Marion photo taken shortly before it left the factory. It is in NYat the dealer getting the prep work done. Delivery in a week or so to us, then lettering, mounting, radio's. 24-2-2
  16. Congratulations!!! My little guy turned 1 month old this week. What an incredible ride it has been so far. He was 10 lbs at birth--and he already is growing. Hope everyone is doing great!!!
  17. Final inspection was last Friday. Took some pictures while we were there. A few minor "touch ups" and it shall be done. Possibly mid to late Sept. for delivery.
  18. Past it today--thought it was the new one. Pics don't seem to do it justice but you are right--it is a Seagrave, I am sure it was not cheap-then again--aside from KME--who is anymore?!? Best of luck with it. One question--I am a bit confused by the different light bar's on the roof. I know the layout and maybethe red lens--but a total different bar? Just wondering the reason behind it thats all.
  19. Love this pic.

  21. Not sure who put the link up for the Marion site--or the legalities--we were told that they own the pics and access was for the purchaser but whatever. As for the engine--we have been told it is completed and we have a factory inspection set for next Friday. Yes I will have new photos and updates as they are available. Delivery is expected in September (if all goes well with the inspection) This is our first Marion--can't wait!!!
  22. Twice in the valley. Rember when you get an air pack out of the compartment to get geared up on the way--close the door before you walk away!!! And second--make sure the people that tell you it is clear and you are good to go--are actually looking at the apparatus not each other before you pull out!!!
  23. Love the graphics. Hopefully Wheeled Coach has improved on their quality. Personally not a big fan of them. Best of luck with it!!
  24. What are the details on the rig again??
