  1. Not sure if it will reach that far yet--still working on the issue. It may work on the scanner. I pick it up down as far as Valhalla(the furthest I usually traval. As far as a web link--maybe someday when we get our web site re done. 123--the ems link changed a few months ago to 453.1875 I believe sooo well I will check it when I come over. I will talk to you about some " rules " when I come up. Car 6 was going to contact your 1-1 about the change. All I need is access to the room--when is good? And by the way--I messed up--it should be 453.7875 for the link to low
  2. I believe it is the Milford muster. We are trying to get a group of us from the valley to go up anyway--maybe we can just join in on the selected day of choice here on EMT bravo
  3. I would stay away from a radio that does all 3--try a VHF High and UHF maybe--since there are enough repeater links to 46.26 around. Low band is a whole other ball game as far as radios go--antennae length etc--
  4. I must thank Brewster--(unfortunately most of our officers could not attend due to a conflict)--we took Best Color Guard and Best Tanker at the parade--THANK YOU!!!
  5. Will be great as soon as I figure it out--why the change if I might ask?
  6. " You sunk my Battle sh$%"
  7. Mainly 10,000 gallon. The size of the development dictates how many of them and where they get placed. We fill the tanks--we make it a multi functional drill. As for the up keep--it was a gray area for a while but now we take care of them--another drill night. It saves alot of hose laying haveing the chargable hydrant system there--works really well. We have yet to use them for the real deal (not a bad thing though) but as a chief--knowing we have some supply of water nearby is a relief. We respond with 6,000 gallons. If we need more than that --oh boy!! But it is there if ya need it!!!
  8. Certificate of Occupancy
  9. We actually require storage tanks and usually chargable systems before we give our approval to the town--no approval--no CO
  10. Dearest Roundhead--I have not forgotten about your situation--nor have I forgotten why you REALLY want it in your bedroom--You know how to find me-if things slow down this week maybe???
  11. Hmm--We would call in a fuel company--but we have been fortunate enough to not operate that long. The rule here is fill it when it gets 3/4 or below. If I am not mistaken the rigs are or were designed to run 8 hours at 3/4 load on a tank of fuel. I could be wrong though.
  12. We use the town tanks. Every Vehicle has a "GasBoy" key for it --you cannot put the wrong kind of fuel in the vehicle and it has a gallonage limit per use. Asdie from the FD--the Ambulance corps, school dist, highway, sheriff, and town use it. Works out great--and can be hooked to a generator.
  13. So more than a quarter--now the Croton influence--got to get a few more in there. LOL
  14. You guys are brutal!!! For one--636 and 642 are easily distinguished. The most distinguished voice would have to be 602--whom has been finishing with his # more often lately--622 is also very distinguished--with his "radio voice". Can't forget about 620,646,644. Well actually most of them are --except the ladies. There are 2 that are tough to tell apart. MAybe using their "radio names" would make it easier--LOL Anyway--back to the original discussion--It does sound much more professional--even though a good percentage of us know who they are. On a side note--who can count the # of Mohegan members that are there???
  15. Ok--you win--an enthusiast-- You are stiil a mystery to us up here to the North

  17. Out of curiosity--did you hear Briarcliff get dispatched? Archville may have gotten dispateched also--or the wrong disp info was given utting it in Briarcliff. It was probably engine 92--(I would assume) which is only down off scarborough rd. But--I could be wrong--wasn't there and didn't hear it

  20. As soon as we get the--ummm -- we we soon will be fixing our repeater link to 46.38--gotta get through some "red tape" first. Trying a new company this time. A certain northern westchester firm kinda left us up the creek so to speak. Don't know how far south in Westrchester it goes though. I get it down to Greenburgh but thats about as far as I travel so I am not to sure.
  21. Assuming it is programmed to scan--if you press and hold the scan button till u hear a beep then when the display flashes scan--press a to add channels and b (for your priority)--when finished pess scan again to exit the program mode. Press scan again to enter scan mode--that is if it is programmed similar to the ones I have. If not you can always get it programmed via pc with the appropriate cable and software.
  22. Thanks Mstremt--thats where I was going with my last post--don't know if I expressed it clearly enough.
  23. AMEN!!! There are pro's and con's to the whole thing--SAFETY FIRST is my take--and long as the Volunteers can keep using the Blue-- Blue to the rear is ok--to the front--should be minimal though--JUST MY OPINION!!! But it is a Dead horse--so lets stop beating it!!
  24. We are sending a few down--including myself. We will be at the Inner Harbor Marriot across the street. Seth--how bout a group shot IFO the stadium or the station across the street--better yet---MAX's !!! LOL See ya all there!!!
