We are fighting some really tough manpower issues right now. They had only 14 FF the other day! The Rescue is the first rig they put out of service. But it is still a heavy rescue not a pumper combo.
EmsFirePolice and tommyguy like this -

What? I don't post in months, but then I post in defense of u guys and a mod deletes it. What gives? Lol...you know what I wrote is true. But I'll repharse it a little nicer.
X233,
You're grasp of the English language is lacking. Several does not mean Seven. Also Seth is not begging he is stating a fact. The site costs money and he needs help to pay for it so you can come on here and post snarky comments.

Sorry I just saw this....
The odds of a CB bleeding over to the 140-160mhz range is slim...very slim. You would have to be close....VERY CLose...and have a bad scanner.

First: Hastings to Pelham on Mapquest/Google etc... is approx 11 miles, so stop blowing up the numbers to serve whatever your cause is.Second: You're posing as a career firefighter somewhere, but drive to work everyday on the Hutch and see this vehicle everyday. I don't know many firefighters who go to work everyday, but maybe you're different...
Third: Is this chiefs vehicle parked on the side of the Hutch, because your profile shows that you work in New Haven, CT. So, while you go to work everyday in New Haven, CT you exit the Hutch in Pelham/Mount Vernon to look around and then get back on northbound I guess... Good bagel and coffee shop around there I guess?!
I question your integrity and your cause. Good luck with your posts.
OK I'm not getting in the middle of all this but......he is not making it up!! I live on the Pelham/NR border and see this car almost daily.
Ok I'm done...

Shuttle bus from MV??

Hey did I miss this somewhere or is it not out?

There is only one exam for Public Safety Dispatcher, If you google civil service study guides or check your local book store there are books out there. I do not recall if there is one that is specific to dispatching. I know there are Firefighter and Police Officer books. The dispatcher exam covers a little bit of everything from map reading, listening comprehension, Reading comprehension. Some Common Sense type questions. The Dutchess County Personnel office may have something as well. Any Questions I will be glad to assist. X129K will also i'm sure as well. Chris BodinTake it from a guy who has taken multiple dispatcher tests over the years.....If you have common sense you can pass. Just pay attention to the details!

Stewie,
If you live in MV you stand a chance....if not it could be a wait.

What ever happened to: Take the test. Do well. Hire the best qualified? Who cares what color you skin is....just give me the best for the job please.

Technically they aren't certified police officers yet. About 2 years ago DCJS made post academy field training a part of the curriculum. I think they need to do something like 5 or 6 weeks more training to be certified. All I can say is.....THAT IS BULLPOOP!!!
(This post complys with the new Profanity Policy...lol)

Truck 4,
Are the guys who got layed off eligible to transfer somewhere or do they have to goto the acadamy again??
-
You're like 6 or 7years behind on this one man. As said each group 1, 2, 3, and 4 has a Deputy who is Battalion X. Batt 5 is the staff deputy. No matter what goup they are in they keep there number. ie: Batt 4 is wroking ot in the one's... he is still Batt 4.
Car 2 is the aide...or the Capt if they are covering the car.

And I feel that the EMTBravo board bringing these issues to light has helped TREMENDOUSLY with getting things done.Joking r we??

Batt1-4 is One of the Deputy Chiefs. Car2 is the car the DC utilizes and also the radio designation of the DC's Aid. Sometimes they shorten Battalion blank to Battalion because usually there is only one working at a time.
Signal 211 is the National Standard Signal and is used to signify Flag Raising and Lowering (more or less)
Signal 2-2-2 is the pay signal and is not used anymore.
Signals 123 and 124 are snow chains on and off respectively.
