  3. FYI: Corning CC will no longer offer the A.O.S. in Fire Protection Technology as well as credit conversions. This degree program is very popular for students in the finger lake region, where Corning is located. Myself, along with a large number of other students were broken the bad news over the summer. According to school officials, they will restructure the program into a A.S. Fire Science degree, requiring general academic studies along with NYS classes to fulfill the degree. Unfortunately until they bring the program back, many people have been left in the dust.

Date: 7-30-10 Time: 19:58 Location: 302 Midland Ave @ Subway Frequency: PCFD FG Units Operating: Engine 58, 63 60 TL2 R40 - E62 placed on standby in quarters per 2391 Building Type: 3.5 Story Balloon Frame, 1st floor commercial storefront / OMD Description Of Incident: Initial Dispatch was for an inside smoke investigation. Units found smoke showing and, once entry was made, fire traveling up the exterior walls. Just before this call came in( at 19:09), a full assignment was sent to the 400 block of Franklin St for heavy smoke from a vacant. Units arrived to find heavy smoke from the chimney & roof. It turned out to be a boiler malfunc on a vacant, all units returned. While at Subway: 20:05 - Engine 59 ran a mutual aid EMS call to PC/R/RB EMS as all their units were busy 20:38 - Other units were back up to the 400 block of Franklin St for a large dumpster fire in a driveway
