Some interesting new from NY's 3rd largest city that brought you the Quint/Midi concept. Other then a 1981 Sutphen tower, Rochester NY hasn't ordered a mid mount aerial since the 50's. They currently use a fleet comprised entirely of E-One Rearmounts. Still miss the Quint/Midi days though lol.
 
Although not a huge Rosenbauer fan currently, they have a lot of interesting concepts and many new ones that will be presented at FDIC this year. They've recently started building new 55' Snorkels for Chicago, and filled large orders for Baltimore County, MD and Miami-Dade, FL. Rochester has been using them for several years now, and the dealer provides pretty strong sales and service support, so that must say something.
 
 

 
I hope so. I surely hope it isn't a repeat of what Daimler-Chrysler was trying to do buying a bunch of diverse brands, like Freightliner, Thomas School Buses, Medic Master Ambulance, Orion Buses, Sterling (Ford) Trucks, American LaFrance fire apparatus, Detroit Diesel, in an attempt to build their portfolio but instead running most of them all into the ground (now Freightliner and Western Star are making a comeback). This company seems more stable and focused though. I see E-One starting to make a comeback and quality reportedly is improving, as shown with recent large orders from Boston and Chicago, amongst others, who specifically went with E-One for E-One's quality (or what they claimed) and features offered, with other cities following suit. They've also been building heavy-duty ESU trucks for NYC for several years now.

But with you said, it could have gone imploded otherwise, and maybe the current KME ownership saw that and knew it was time to get out, and this was their golden parachute.

I notice Yonkers Squad 11 goes on all 10-30's? I thought they nixed doing that so they kept some sort of rescue in service in the city?

The Ford F-450 chassis is becoming popular in Westchester. I worked in an agency that had a 2012 GMC (van chassis) Type III and a 2009 Ford F-450 4x4 Type I (Pickup chassis). The Ford F-450 was better suited to handle the increasing weight of today's modules, handled and turned better, and the 4x4 came in handy several times.  The cab is much more comfortable and quitter, and the engine is also easier to access, making maintenance quicker.

Batt 1 reports 3 story frame with possible extension into connected 3 story frame already.  Similar exposure with 3 foot separation on other side of building.  
 
Engines 309 307 and Ladder 75 on the 2nd Alarm.  MSU also requested.
Engine directed to stretch into exposure 4.
 
Engines 310 312 Ladder 73 on the 3rd Alarm.  FIU and MSU on scene.
3rd alarm companies to stage on Riverdale Avenue.
 
New Rochelle sending 1&1 to Yonkers (engine 22 and ladder 12) Station 12.
Car 3 is now the IC.
PD requested to close Riverdale Avenue so they can access large water main on Riverdale.

Engines 313 314 and Ladder 70 on the 4th Alarm.  This accounts for all on-duty companies in the city.
Ladder from Eastchester to Station 14.  Engine 29 out of service to staff.
 
Car 3 reports partial collapse of original fire building - #53 Herriott.  All companies are out of building.

YFD personnel recall underway to staff reserve apparatus.  Engines 300, 319 and Squad 45 in service (that I've heard).

Yonkers OEM on scene.  Red Cross requested to assist displaced residents.
 
During this fire:
Engine 319 (reserve) responding to medical emergency.
New Rochelle 1&1 with Yonkers Batt 3 responding to fire alarm.
MVFD Engine 204 and YFD Squad 45 responding to trauma (fall victim).
Greenville Squad 15 responding to medical emergency.

Here's  Ridgefield Rescue 2 2008 Surphen SVI Walk around box unit features a walk in from cab for their  water rescue wetsuits also a light tower This unit was 3 years in  planning They cover routes 46  & 95 (NJ Turnpike) This unit replaced a 1978 GMC General /Saulsbury with walk  box

Here are photos I have of all the Greenburgh PD cars assigned to Car 73, which is a Patrol Car and ALS Flycar staffed by a Police Officer who is also a Paramedic. These photos stretch from 2003 to this morning. I believe I got them all (not sure about 2008-2012 when I lived in Texas).
