Jet Blue doesn't fly any regionals and has no airframes manufactured by Bombardier. They exclusively operate Airbus A320/321's and Embraer E190/195's.  Both underwing powered aircraft.  I'm not saying this to rebuttal you but rather that rookie pilots flying larger underwing powered aircraft is concerning. Somehow I think they should cut their teeth elsewhere.

No it is truly about time the Airlines in the USA are doing this. For the most part the the Airlines in Europe do this granted it is very expensive, but you will be flying a $100 Million Aircraft. JetBlue Airways spends about $85 Million without the engines yes I said without the engines, the engines are Pratt and Whitney's and each engine costs about $10 Million. JetBlue is regulated through the FAA, IATA, and ICAO. I highly doubt any one of these 3 organizations would allow JetBlue to do this if it wasn't Safe. Besides it will take them 4 years to get there according to the article anyway, and the FAA states that a Pilot needs a minimum of 1500 hours to become an Airline Transport Pilot which is an additional License that must be obtained prior to becoming a First Officer for a Major Airline like JetBlue Airways.

Source I'm a former JetBlue Airways Crewmember. Yes my numbers a accurate because those numbers came from one of the Vice Presidents of Airline Operations.

Does anyone know if the White Plains Transcare units are sitting behind the Fire Station on Ferrris Ave? Didn't see them at the Mount Vernon base.

Also, where did 37-M-1/37-M-2 shift change out of when it was operated by Transcare?

37 Medic One was the 24/7 Medic Fly-Car that came out of Mount Pleasant Police Department during each shift change. Medic one was typically posted at Valhalla Ambulance Corps for there tours.

37 Medic Two was only a 12 hour Fly-Car from (0700-1900) That came out of Transcare White Plains the Fly-Car would be picked up and dropped off at the White Plains Fire House on Ferris Avenue.

  5. Land Zones are often somewhat close to the scene it's quicker then going to the airport. Regardless of and emergency or not before a vehicle can go onto an airfield it needs to me checked. Thus causing the lack of time that you don't have if Stat Flight is called. The only vehicles that don't require to be checked are airport vehicles.

  6. Anyone have any details on this unique piece of apparatus?

It doesn't look like it has a water cannon on top. It looks more like a Electric Generator truck then anything else. The FDNY replaced the Super Pumper with the small satellite truck. Besides the old Super Pumper had two trucks a tender and the pumper. This truck doesn't look like it can carry any hose, and unless the water cannon pops up from the inside of the truck it's not a pumper. That's why I assume it's a large Electric Generator Truck.

  7. My Father's car caught fire on Westchester Ave. in Harrison. From what he told me he heard a weird noise when he put his foot on the gas. When he got off the Westchester Avenue exit said that he lost his brakes, and after he lost them Black/Blue smoke was pouring out the the A/C Vents. Then he said he saw the paint on the hood bubbling, and he pumped his brakes enough to somewhat slow down. He started to slow down and put the car in park the car started jerking and he jumped out. After he got out the car blew up not once but twice. There were flames shooting out from everywhere, examples: under the car, from the wheel wells, all the windows, including rear window and windshield. He then went into the middle of Westchester Ave. to try to stop some car to call 911. He doesn't have a Cell Phone, and nice man pulled over to call 911.

  8. wow someone has a big mouth you know why you don't care is you are a civil service employee and you are set for life and you don't have to worry about that s*** because you don't pay for it but when it comes to people that are not civil service employees they have to worry about it i don't give a crap how big there district is with all though vehicles including the fire trucks is stupid fire trucks are obvious 10 vehicles i could understand 4-5 but 10 are you kidding me you all need to look at the big picture what does it cost to keep these 10 vehicles on the road including the trucks insurance is probably about $1,000+ per vehicle so 10 cars = $10,000 DOH Sticker for EMS Vehicles probably $500+ per vehicle 4 flycars = $2,000 just plates cause the don't have to be registered $200 per vehicle = $2,000 on top of gas/diesel 4.15 for gas times 32 gallon fuel tank = $132.80x10= $1,328 probably a week so $1,328x4=5,312 total it all thats 19,312 only for the 10 cars not including the fire trucks so do the math and i'm sure if the people in that community knew where there tax payer money was going they would say that exact same thing as me but they don't know that lake mohegan has 10 vehicles and what happens when you are not going to a call you are wasting the gas/diesel right so add more to that fuel cost

  9. I bet you would be surprised at how many "staff cars" the larger career departments have.

    ;)

And NO, that is not a kock, QTIP

Ya well lake mohegan is not the FDNY or Newark Jersey City give me a break you cannot justify 10 vehicles especially when gas prices are at $4.15 a gallon or course you don't care because your not paying for it right but yes you are it comes out your taxes
