  1. Check out this YouTube video. This is one of NYSP's old Fedral Signal Vista Lightbars. Now they use whelen liberies with colored lenses. If you look towards the end, you will see the blue rear facing lights. The Blue is much stronger then the red and amber. This is not my video.
  2. Can't everyone just get along? Including PDs, FDs and the NYS Govenrment
  3. I am glad to see that we have a Airport Ops guy on the forum! I am pretty sure a boeing 757 has landed at HPN before but not with any airline. The 757 has a wheelbase of 60ft while the Airbus A320 only has a wheelbase of 41.5ft. I am not sure the exact width of HPN's taxiways, even though I have been on them thousands of times as a pilot. However, the normal taxiway width for this catagory of airport is around 60ft. I am glad to see the terminal becoming more "user-friendly". I also do not understand people who move to area around an aiport and then complain about the noise! I am not sure how many officers work for CBP at Avitat, but I do not see them expanding to the main terminal any time soon.
  4. Well, I do not think that is the problem. The Embraer E190 would not make it but the Airbus A320 has a 3,000nm range with full fuel. While it may take up almost all of HPN's 6500ft runway to take off, I think there would have to be major weight restrictions. Meaning that they would only be able to haul 100 people, in a 150 passenger jet. I think we are more likely to see American Airlines to Miami, before we see jetBlue to Vegas. As far as international flights, I would love to see direct flights to the Caribbean but they would have to clear Customs and their origin city. I am also waiting to see what the Continental and United merge means for Westchester. Continental pulled out of HPN a couple of years ago, while united goes direct from HPN to D.C. and Chicago. Any other cities you would like to see service to?

  8. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, check out the "Wings of Freedom Tour" exibit at the Westchester County Airport. A B-17, B-24 and P-51 are all open to the public. Cost is $12 for adults and $6 for chilren (12 and under). I believe, any verteran gets in free. If you would like to fly in a bomber, the cost is 425 per person. If you want 30 minutes in the P-51 Mustang, you'll need to $2000, and $3200 for an hour flight. It is located at the Million Air FBO. Just follow the white sings. 14. Seth, I am not a fan of this new format either. Not allwoing us to comment on photos, is prohibiting this from being a forum. If you feel that the coments get out of control or get off topic then get more moderators to moderate the forum and keep the peace. Just my 2 Cents

  19. Like this?... This has red to the rear. (not my photos) Click Here This has red to the front but says "Emergency Response"... Click Here The ones that have red lights in the front are Emergency Response Cars. Although, all the time I have been in NYC, I have never seen these responding "code 3".
  20. That Con Ed truck is the emergency supervisor. It only has red and blue light to the back, amber only in the front. I am not sure what it carries but I've only seen that truck around when there are major power problems related to black outs, winter storms, gas leaks, strong storms and fires. Anbody have any other info on it?
