  5. Thanks too everyone for there support.....its great too see that people remember him for what he was...A great guy and father.... R.I.P dad..
  6. R.I.P chief. My sincerest condolences to his family and his department
  7. We usually do a few tanker shuttle drill's every year.Since we live in a town with no hydrants we depend on tanker's for water. We always include the surrounding departments as the will be called in for mutual aid and have learned many new tactics for using portable drafting pool's.. Our last tanker shuttle took place right on Lake Carmel which we never used the dry hydrant.. we used 2 pools right next too each other and fed one pool into the other... the whole goal of the drill was too feed Carmel fire departments ladder and the deck gun on the engine and a few hand lines without running out of water...We used a fill site behind our old FD on rt52 which was about a half a mile away..We used 4 tankers in rotation ranging in tank size from 1500 too 4000 gallons.. this drill lasted for over 2 hours. Not once did we have too use the water on the engine..
  8. congrats guys... we will look forward too taking all that water on our next big fire......
  9. good luck with it.... nice looking rig.... hope it doesn't burn up on ya...
  10. anyone notice that the comment's part for that video was disabled???? wonder why
  11. thats correct... it used too be a restaurant yrs ago..
  12. This was a fight right from the word go.... heavy fire load upon arrival. exposure problems to the rear of the structure... all dept.s worked great as a team last night ...... the most important ... NO one got hurt .. as far as the runoff there was a full basement and everything ended up there.... 6 ft or more of water the last time I looked ......
  13. another way too get it really clean is to get a couple of pieces of carpet and use the metal polish with it and use terry cloth or the ball's too remove it...
  14. yes i have used the power balls... i use zephyr metal polish with the power ball's on the plate and it shines.....
  15. yes this was really hard too read .. the total breakdown of everything was hard too swallow...i am amazed that in this day and age that 1 1/2 lines and a booster line would be used in a commercial fire.. A LOT can sure be learned from this terrible fire. Mahopac has just this type of store ... freight liquidators if im not mistaken...
