I think it should have one of those spinning wheels with the lights in the grill...common what were they thinking not including that???
-
After watching this weeks episode, i was applauding when Dawson kicked the drugged up guy out the back of the ambulance. How many times have you all wanted to do that?

Yeah all of our radios are switched over to narrowbanding but still it sounds awful
-
So our county (St. Lawrence County) has just switched over to narrowbanding this week and I have noticed that the quality of radio traffic has decreased dramatically. It sounds very distorted and many times while talking to dispatch or other units they can't hear what we are saying.
Has anyone else had issues since they switched to narrowbanding?

I received word from my chief up here in St. Lawrence County, and he said that "The NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control, as part of the Statewide Mutual Aid and Mobilization plan, has asked each county to canvass for available resources for deployment to NYS and Long Island area."
We are looking at sending an Engine down there within the next day or two and hope to be down there to help.

Pshh, if it was only as easy as it was on the show Breaking Bad. Good job DEA getting that off the streets, its inevitable that our EMS would be seeing some of its users.

EJ Noble Hospital in Gouverneur New York (St. Lawrence County) has been closed until further notice.

Here is a video of a live burn demonstration of a mock dorm room that the Canton Fire Department put on for St. Lawrence University's Safety Fair Day. Volunteering in a town with 2 Universities, we get a lot of box alarms and students tend to think that when the fire alarm goes off, its not necessarily an emergency and can stay in their buildings. We wanted to show how quick a room and contents fire can occur in a dorm room.
As well as the live burn, we had fogged out a large room and brought students through, showing them what it would be like in our "working" environment. We also taught them how to find a wall and look for a door or window to get out of the smoke filled environment to safety.

Question..
Since the "old" 2141 was a 07 or so Suburban, will that replace one of the older chief cars? I know the other 2 are older..
Yes, the old 2141 is going to be 2142...
Car 2142 is going to be the new Rescue 25..
and Rescue 25 is going to be the new Car 2143

The picture of the guy in the driver seat holding on to the steering wheel is the best, especially because the tires under him are not on the ground.

This is tragic that incidents like this occur.

I agree with BFD1054, I went skydiving with my friend as a graduation present to myself from high school and it was one of best experiences I have ever had. Freefalling for about a minute, then flying around on a chute for a couple more until we landed.
If you do it, make sure you get the video with it, it was totally worth it.
I feel bad for the wife of the 49 year old though, in another article I read, it stated that she "convinced her husband" to go skydiving that day. To live with that on your shoulders must be horrific.
RIP

Does anyone have the actual picture of this?
I believe that one should just use common sense. How hard is it to make sure your head is not going to hit the traffic light? I believe that it is nice PR for the community and gets everyone into the holiday spirit. Again, just do it safely.
