  1. Hey Phil thanks very much for posting here. It is good to hear that the name and the bar will carry on. Is there a date that Pete's will be "changing hands." Would love to be there.
  2. Yorktown Heights Wednesday 6/23
  3. Can someone confirm the Yorktown Heights parade is this Wednesday 7PM?
  4. Took these Sunday at Pound Ridge.
  5. Great pics Joe. Thanks for posting.
  6. Hoping someone can help me with this. I recently found a cb/walkie talkie in my closet that I haven't used in many years. I thought that I might try to sell it but when I opened it up it unfortunately still had AA batteries in it that obviously had leaked. Once the batteries have leaked into the compartment, does that mean the radio is ruined or can it be cleaned out? If so, how do I clean it? There is hard, encrusted residue all over the battery connections. Thanks in advance...... Bill
  7. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I let you know how it goes. Thanks again! I knew someone for EMT would know how to handle it!!!
  8. Great job! Thanks for sharing those. Any more?
  9. Does Mt Vernon, Yonkers, White Plains etc. have trunked radios to communicate with 60 Control? IF not shouldn't they?
  10. Correct me if I'm wrong about this but it seems that there has been a definite decrease in the use of the helicopter in Westchester since Stat Flight left the Medical Center. Are there any numbers to back this up? There have been some discussions on these forums in the past about the use or misuse of helicopter landings and if there has been a decrease in calls for it, does this prove that it was sometimes being called when not really needed? Not criticizing anyone or any Department here just making an observation. Any opinions?
  11. My thinking was really along the lines of your "playing it safe" category and that it seemed that in some cases that's exactly what was happening; lets call for it "just in case." Now with the extra flight distance, that's the part that has changed the thinking of some. Glad to hear that you're willing to cancel the helicopter when not necessary. I won't even get into the "glory" category. That would start something that would probably get the thread shut down.
  12. Please just tell everyone that you were kidding and trying to be funny and lets move on. You were kidding right?
  13. It was a pretty good game and a lot of fun. NHL needs to find a way to bring this to New York. A Ranger v Islander game outside at Yankee Stadium or Citifield (or anywhere else for that matter) would be incredible and great for the NHL and and NYC.
  14. Unfortunately, with the way money is with the State right now, I wouldn't expect anything to happen on that road anytime soon. Look how long it took just to get the DOT to pave the "bumpy road" section of the Taconic! By the way, Bear Mountain Parkway is another disaster waiting to happen. How there aren't more tragedies on that road is a small miracle.
  15. Unfortunately Cablevision doesn't carry this channel. Does anyone get it? Maybe Verizon?
  16. Hope I put this in the right Forum
  17. Well said Chris; especially in light of what has happened around here in the last 24 hours. Unfortunately it sometimes takes a LODD to remind everyone of what's important in this profession.
  18. RIP FF JOYCE. Our prayers for the family and for the recovery of those hurt in this tragedy.
  19. Bill can you please post a link for your website again? Thanks!!!
  20. Hey I'm under 50 and I've had great times at Pete's! When I worked at the A&P, co-workers and I were there all the time for "liquid lunches." Bartenders were great guys and always had a beer ready before I got to the bar. Watched the Rangers win the Stanley Cup at Petes. One of the best nights ever!! Man this is making me sad..........oh well. Have to stop in for old times sake. Anyone know exactly when its closing?

  22. Wow! Chris how hard is that to do? Is it as hard as it looks? The crew working there don't seem very concerned about it at all!
  23. Happy Birthday Seth from one Leo to another!!!!
