Thank you for sharing these great photos from the "other end" lol

I second that
I noticed it is no longer possible to edit your Shouts in the Shoutbox after this downtime. This was a great feature, can we get it back?
That has been an ongoing problem for me. I ALWAYS have to refresh the page and retype it and delete one and paste the other one, It's probably a simple fix but it is very frusterating.

LA County Fire has 200 rigs from KME as of now. In the begining they had nothing but problems (ie) keep machanics employed. So KME worked with county and now they are better but still have many issues.
I know lots of departments with KME's who have continous problems.. Usually Mechanically. Never heard any Seagrave's or Pierce having problems, but I am sure it happens.

When the Bedford Hills Fire Department renovations were completed this fall, no one thought the new room capable of being used as a town-wide emergency command center would be put to use so quickly.
But now that is has been put to a thorough test, the space is getting high marks from officials who were there twice a day for over a week during superstorm Sandy and its aftermath.
"They were incredible," he said. "Those volunteers are what it's all about."

It is a firetruck not a sports car... Who cares what it looks like if it gets the job done safely?
I was asking if it is used for any specific reason, less about how it looks.

Been noticing lately that lots of brand new rigs have Chevron Bumpers. I'd like to know why so many departments are doing this now? Is there a specific purpose for it?
Personally, if this rig below didn't have that on the bumper, it'd look fantastic, it sort of takes away from the look (Even though thats not what it's about..)
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I hate that this site has become a "cut and paste" of links to newspaper articles.
Sure, we all check the local rags to see who has been to J O B S and stories associated with emergency services, so we all see them most of the time anyways...but what happened to actual e-conversations?
And where the F is George!?
Absolutely. One thing I personally do not like is when I create an IA, and then someone PM's with a link to "the media" and doesnt say anything else. I never add any links to my IA's anymore.
I asked about George a couple of weeks ago.. http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php/topic/47414-efdcapt115/ (sorry for the link.. LOL)

Investigators say around 2 a.m. Marion County Deputy Carl Anthony Rakes came up behind a 2007 Kia that was stopped on US 68. While Rakes was walking to the car, the driver opened fire.

Anyone know if "Hunter" ambulance has anything to do with the storm? I passed one on 684 in Katonah today, it had lots of people in the back of it (no patient or anything, looked like it was being used to transport a bunch of people) Any info would be appreciated.

A Message from the Dept who donated the rig:
The Hooversville Volunteer Fire Company has donated a 1981 Mack CF-600 Pumper to a volunteer fire department in Queens, N.Y., that lost all of its vehicles when Hurricane Sandy slammed ashore.
The West Hamilton Beach Volunteer Fire Department near John F. Kennedy International Airport lost two ambulances, two pumper trucks and a brush truck in the storm, Hooversville president Richard Lohr said.
"Let's face it, it's total devastation what they're dealing with," he said.
The Hooversville department has been trying to sell a pumper truck for more than a year. Mr. Lohr said the department had hoped to get $25,000 for its 1981 Mack pumper with a 500-gallon tank and pumping capacity of 1,000 gallons per minute as well as 1,800 of 4-inch hose, a portable generator, lights and a portable pump capable of handling another 250 gallons per minute.
"Collectors wanted to buy it but of course collectors don't want to pay what you think it's worth," Mr. Lohr said. "And money for us doesn't compare to what they've lost in New York."
He said he contacted the Pennsylvania fire commissioner's office to offer help after he saw what Sandy did. When a 1996 flood swept all of Hooversville's protective gear out its doors, help from other departments meant everything, Mr. Lohr said.
The Fire Truck was driven back to New York by 2 members of the West Hamilton Beach VFD on Saturday evening, November 3, 2012. They arrived safely back at their fire station with Engine at 6 AM on Sunday morning.
Along with the donated fire truck, the Hooversville Community Club donated $500 to the West Hamilton Beach VFD, as well as as $281 from the Hooversville Community, all of which were present to the West Hamilton Beach VFD crew before leaving the Hooversville Fire Station.

Odd looking Mercedes ambulance. Only ones I see ( in New York) are the ones with the extended roofs for standing/storage purposes, how could a patient and a EMT fit in one of those ambulances?
Great pictures, again.
