Charity Football Game: Mamaroneck Police Vs. Fire

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The Town of Mamaroneck Police Benevolent Association has teamed up with the town Fire Department to compete against each other in their first flag football game and barbecue.

“I proposed this event in March,” said Police Officer Ron McKeegan. “I wanted to bring more attention to the men and women fighting overseas and bring the community together in a positive way.”

Admission to the game is free, but the teams hope to raise money through the barbecue, game-day raffles and T-shirt sales to support the Wounded Warrior Project...

Town of Mamaroneck PBA will be playing the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department in a Charity Flag Football Game and Barbeque. This event will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Flint Park on Locust Avenue in Larchmont. The barbeque will begin at 2PM, followed by the kickoff of the football game at 4:30PM, rain or shine.

While there is no charge for admission to the game, both of the town’s police and fire department teams hope to raise funds through the barbeque, many game-day raffles, and t-shirt sales to support this year’s charity, the Wounded Warrior Project.
