  1. RIP Officer. To everyone searching for this lowlife, stay safe ad bring him to justice.
  2. Rest in peace.
  3. As far as I am aware, and correct me if I am wrong, the departments that are participating are backfilled by the same paid departments that are part of this drill. New Rochelle for example backfills Yonkers and Pelham. The departments that are participating are then the same ones that would be backfilling in the event of an actual emergency response.
  4. I don't think they are wrong by any standard. If those are the values of their community then that is what they should be able to live by. My values differ from those and I have no desire to live in a community that places belief or safety, does that make them wrong as you said? No. My question was based from a standpoint of how they operate, not whether their values, opinions, and or actions are right or wrong.
  5. While searches and firefighting are two differnt things, what is their process for primary and secondary searches? If they are unable to make an effective seal with their facial hair and SCBA how would they enter and search? I don't think the community would want to have to wait for a m/a department to come in and conduct those. Again, not an attack against anyone or their practices, simply a question on how they operate.
  6. That makes much more sense. Thanks for clarifying. Yes, as far as I am aware they have four dispatchers and ones supervisor on at any given time. If someone is able to confirm or deny thhis that would be very helpful.
  7. I know that with Hatzolah their members are exempt from mask confidence because of their beards and religious beliefs. Is the same to be said for the KJFD? Or because they are going into a fire are they required to pass some sort of confidence course? Not trying to start any issues here, simply a question of curiosity.
  8. While I think that EMD is a fantastic and invaluable tool, I have noticed of late fewer calls seem to be getting EMDed. I'm not sure if this is just me or if it is something that other people are noticing, if anyone else wants to share what they have noticed that would be greatly appreciated. If we are already seeing fewer calls with an EMD with just the addition of those agencies that Firedude mentioned switching to 60 over the summer, what is going to happen when the deadline comes in January? Even fewer calls being EMDed? I think that 60 dispatchers do an amazing job and am in no way attacking them, rather I am trying to ask if others have noticed a decline in the ability to EMD a call because of an already increased call volume.
  9. Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.
  10. Squad 15 was among one of the units dispatched to the reported alarm at Gorton High School. New Rochelle Engine 22 and Ladder 12 were relocated to Yonkers Station 12 shortly after 4pm. Ladder 15 and 2103 from Eastchester are in Yonkers and responded to the activated alarm at Gorton High School. Units have been released from the scene and are relocating to Yonkers Station 9 ( 53 Shonnard place). Squad 15 is out at Station 9 with L15, 2103, and Bat. 18. *edited with new information*
  11. Awesome! I would love to see it in use in Connecticut and wish them great success there. Maybe one day it will have enough success there and they can branch out to the New York Metro area.

  13. This may be a stupid question, but if it comes in just as a CO alarm from the alarm company, therefor you don't know if their are symptoms or not, I would venture to guess that you respond emergency even if it is with just 1 Engine and Rescue and then if symptoms are found the rest come, rather then sending the single engine and rescue non emergency?
  14. I have always wanted to be a weatherman, no matter how much I screw up or give my bosses the wrong information I would get to keep my job...must be nice lol.
  15. Does anyone know how long the girl was reported to be missing before the Amber Alert was issued? Not being familiar with this or any national standards is their a certain amount of time that must have passed before one can be issued? Do the police need to have a certain amount of credible information and/or evidence to issue one? I feel that there must be some type of standard, but again not being familiar with it I am not sure. Hoping someone might be able to answer this.
