NYS*DOT has changed the logo on their trucks from the very well known "T", to a stupid, tiny logo that Governor ******* has dictated all state agencies have just with wording changes for each one. Grrrr.....

Good job by Yonkers FF's. But why is Empress EMS ALWAYS a footnote in these stories? I'm sure their EMT's and Paramedics had a big part in his survival as well. It seems these stories come out a few times a year about Yonkers FF's saving someone, and Empress EMS is ALWAYS a footnote. Maybe writing a paragraph about how some of the best EMT's and Paramedics in Westchester were a crucial part of it? Or inviting Empress EMS to the photo op/press conference?

It is staffed with dispatchers (2, I think) and firemen and officers.

While I do not in any way wish to minimize the loss of life of the innocent victims of another terrorist atrocity, once again the President shows his lack of understanding of the Constitution in his directive to order all flags to be flown at half staff.  A well meaning gesture not grounded in actual law which is very specific as to the persons for whom the flag is to be lowered to half staff.
 
Over time we have diminished the significance of this honor just as we have the label 'Hero'.

I figured today would be a good day to start a thread with photos of Highway Department Plow Trucks. So please, if you have any, post 'em up and share them with us!
First up for me is Greenburgh Highway Department's Truck 29, a 2010 Mack Granite 10x10, with a Henderson Muni Body Asphalt Edition Integrated Spreader/Dump Body and Henderson Plow, photographed this past Thursday getting ready for this weekend's storm.

Here's Teaneck NJ 's 74 Freightliner (unsure of YR) Medic Master at Englewood Hospital ER  Their newest rig 75 is a 2014 Freightliner/Horton They are celebrating their 75th year of volunteer service  Very impressive collect of ambulances over the years

Here's River vale's new Chevy/Wheeled Coach at Englewood Hospital ER 

Squad 2's a 2006 Ford F550 Oddesey  used as a 2nd piece to FL R (Rescue) unit carries repel team gear & dewatering equipment Defibrillator & first aid bag Their are also 2 SCBA's carried too

 Here's a pic of HUMC's Chevy/Oddesey Spare unit riding as ALS105 out of Pascack Valley Hospital (it's a rechassided unit)  Their regular units are Suburban' chase cars

Managed to get a rear shoot of the new Tenafly International / Horton  unit 42 today at work Note the  LED lighting in the chevrons 

No rear facing blue lights on the new ambulances? Unless I missed them. That Ford Expedition looks nice. Am I wrong or do the Ford SSVs usually come with steel painted wheels & not aluminum rims?
