  1. Well said JTF. I also think that the Poughkeepsie Urinal's story is very confusing being that they left out certain parts of the incident being mentioned. to further add to it that if pt. A wants xyz ambulance and it is rolled over to DC911 and ABC ambulance arrives as part of a contract then they can still request transport by xyz ambulance and have to sign a RMA for ABC ambulance. Another part to add is that the origianl call in that incident should have called 911 1st and maybe the town board and first responders can conduct a campaign to educate the public to call 911. Just my thoughts
  2. I would suggest checking the Academy at Montour Falls or calling them
  3. That's right I meant when it was known as KED348 Thanks for catching that
  4. Back to the 3 digit number on the old tanker,I beleive it was back in the 70's that Dutchess 911 was known as KED-348. There was a 3 digit code given to each Dept for the apparatus, that not many places used to often. The one that stands out for me was Glenham's engines being known as Glenham 360 ,361.. Most Dept.'s didn't like it to much and just went and used Engine 1 Engine 2 Truck 1, Truck 2 etc. Maybe some of the older people on the board might remember those numbers and why they weren't used.

  12. Greetings all I haven't posted before but wanted to add my 2 cents on this topic. I was in Lake George as well this weekend and Saturday morning on Route 9 near the outlets I saw a company with 2 memebers in the hosebed and drinking from what looked like a beer bottle. I couldn't believe what I was seeing but then behind the Engine was the CHIEF of the Dept. in a district vehicle and allowing this to happen. I cannot imagine how a Chief can allow this to happen and it wasn't like the truck was going 5 MPH but going closer to 30 Mph. Firefighters wonder where we get the rep. of doing nothing but drinking beer and being reckless. I know that most Dept's work hard to overcome this image and are professional in the way we conduct ourselves and are serious about what we do............
