  3. from CNN Militant: 'Those who cure you will kill you' An Iraqi militant said to be close to al Qaeda allegedly warned a British cleric: "Those who cure you will kill you." The warning -- or threat -- is now taking on new meaning after last week's UK terror plot, believed to have been hatched by health professionals. full story http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/07/04...aeda/index.html do you think this threat can happen here?
  4. I think the rating system will scare away people from posting, what is the purpose of rating people. If someone does not like the person they can get a poor rating, or what if a person posts something very interesting and they have a low rating we are to take what they say with a grain of salt? Or a person with a high rating posts something that is totally of the wall we are to take as gospel? Do away with the rating system in my opinion. I just don’t see what the purpose of it is, but then again its your site and you have final say.
  5. I do agree Seth, but with the county and thruway auth. unsure what they are going to do with the bridge do not expect this anytime soon. I was wondering what do you think if they ran stand pipes down so the fire boats could hook up to them and pump water that way , do you think it would work?
  6. It is with much pride that I announce that Sleepy Hollow Ambulance Corps 40th anniversary. The SHAC has gone through many changes through the years but still is going strong and serving the public of Sleepy Hollow with pride.
  7. Still 40 years of service, does not matter if it was under the fire department or not, many members are members of both, and when we left the fire department many memebers from the fire department stayed with the ambulance corp. gdexplorer thank you for your wishes and congrads to TVAC and all of its memebers on 40 Years
  8. Phelps calls the Police Desk then they tone it out, and for the Med Center usually half way there because the radio signal wont go over the hill between us and valhalla
  9. Does any know if the NFPA Fire Protection Handbook can be down loaded for free anywhere? Thanks
  10. Thanks alot for the info
  11. I would think it would be a HIPPA violation
  12. Think it sucked , they better do a movie to close it off but I doubt they will.
  13. Something doesnt seem right, This women and her dog are allowed in emergency rooms, hosptials, nursing homes, and this is just to visit, but when the women needs an ambulance I think the dog should be transported with her. Then in the same thought if it is an true emergency (which calls for a stay in the hosptial) the women then again wont need the dog until she comes home. Interesting question maybe we should give our friends at REMAC a call and find out.
  14. I think HHS uses the building now, It was not that big of a place to begin with. Basicly just housed human resources.
  15. I have heard of some paid Departments doing this on the grounds of the fire house, but never off that.
  16. Seth You have to grow thick skin, the way you talk you think many of us know you personal, which is not true many of us just know you from here, and really dont care what people post about you. I for one dont care if its a truth or lie. No way for us to prove either way since we dont know you. So just let it slide. I know you didnt make this site to get a pat on your back, the same way you didnt become a firefighter to get a pat on the back. You know you have a good site here, your going to get alot more BS then you will get a pat on the back so dont worry about it, dont matter who wants to post or who doesnt want too.
  17. I hope they mean the town of Mount Pleasant, which means I will be getting it soon.
  18. Question 1 This should be no problem at all Question 2 They should lay cable as far as it is needed Question 3 This also should be no problem, but you may want to put you router closer to the ceiling in your basement just in case Good Luck with FIOS it is great best move I ever made for internet, Just waiting for FIOS TV to show up here now
  19. It looks like an armor car, NYPD has one, it was used here in westchester. It was about 10 years ago maybe more, there was a hostage sititution in the lower county area, a Westchester police officer was shoot during it, NYPD was called in with the Armor Car, it transported ESU to pull out the shot officer and I think deploy memebers of NYPD ESU closer to the scene. Actually NYPD version looks like a Army transport (at least the one they used back then) They also used to have what they called a Tank I think. It looks like a small tank but at the end of the turret was a ram. Dont know if they have it still.
  20. As being one of the response departments to the TZ for jumpers, I think its a good idea, it cant hurt. If it helps one person from jumping it paid for it self right there. If it keeps them form jumping keep in mind it keeps our fellow brothers and sisters out of the water and safe, it helps all around.
  21. Does anyone know if Con Ed is still giving them away, if so do you know the contact info for them. Thanks
  22. Isn’t speeding against the law?? When a police officer lets us off without a ticket it’s not a right it’s a courtesy, we all scream and holler slow down when we are speeding in our emergency vehicles, so what makes it so hard to obey the speed limit in our personal cars. Just obey the law and you will never have to worry about getting a ticket.
