  1. The ATCEMS is hiring for Paramedics. Base Salary: $38,089 Average DOL Overtime Compensation : $4,534 This represents the overtime that is inherent in the 56 hour schedule worked by ATCEMS paramedics. You should probably have one year of ALS experience in a high volume, clinically sophisticated EMS system, but we are always looking for exceptional people of any experience level. You are a life long learner and a well-educated paramedic, you must have a high school diploma and we prefer at least 30 hours of college credit. You have an unwavering commitment to deliver exceptional customer service. You must have a National Registry or Texas Department of Health Paramedic Certification or License or have obtained it no later than one week prior to the starting date of your academy. You must hold a current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), OR Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) is preferred. You want to understand the medicine behind your standards of care, not just memorize them. You can have no more than 7 points on your state driving record (within the last 3 years). 2. Cutty....nice job on the photos. 8) 8)
  3. Geez!! I must be old. I remember a Drive-In Theater here in Lewisville that was on Hwy. 121. Hwy. 121 was a one lane in each direction road. The Theater is loooooong gone, and is now home to a 7-11, a hotel, and Lewisville's Station 3. Hwy. 121 is now a 6 lane divided road, and is actually Business 121, as Hwy. 121 now bypasses Lewisville.
  4. I've watched two episodes since they killed off my girl Taylor!! [-X
  5. Fort Worth just took delivery of four new Engines like this one. They are from General Safety on a Spartan Gladiator Classic. They're equipped with a 1500gpm pump a 750 gallon tank, and a CAFS (Compressed Air Foam System) Fort Worth just placed another order this past week for three more Engines like this. Fort Worth Engine 17. Photo was taken Friday 4-23-04 as it was being placed into service. (Photos are property of Task Force 7) 8)
  6. The four lights above the grab rail is to indicate the water level in the tank. (Green, blue, amber, and red) It's used when the second in Engine arrives on scene they can look at the lights to see how much water is left in the tank, and if they need to catch the hydrant for the first in Engine. Molly is the name Fort Worth gave the real Texas Longhorn that parades through the streets of the Fort Worth Stock Yards. Since Fort Worth is known as "Where the West Begins" and "COWTOWN", the Texas Longhorn has become the mascot, and logo for the City. 8) 8)
  7. I saw one of these new Lamborghini's here in Highland Park. It must be nice to have money to waste on a Lamborghini.  :-P :-P
  8. Yes. All the rigs in Fort Worth are white with a blue stripe, and most have silver roll up doors. 8) 8) Fort Worth has had WHITE Longhorn logo (AKA Molly).
  9. Thank you CG206. We don't have anything like that around here. 8)
  10. What is a VAC? :help:
  11. When I was a Volunteer 12 years ago for PFD, I played a prank on a Rookie Volly. We were a combo. paid/volunteer F.D. Anyway it was a slow day, and we hadn't had a call in about 9 hours. The Rookie was heading to the bathroom to take care of business. As he walked by me, he said: "Now watch us get toned out." That little light went on in my head. I told the paid crew what I had in mind. The Lt. agreed that we could do it. So we walked up to our Dispatcher, and told her to tone us out. She was able to do this without actually going over the radio. We went back to the living quarters, and the tones went off saying we had a structure fire. We all started yelling to the Rookie to come on. He came running out of the bathroom still pulling his pants up, and went running to the bay. We were all acting like we were bunkering out. The Rookie got fully bunkered, and jumped into his seat. SQUASH!!! :yikes: :yikes: He looked down and noticed we were all standing there laughing. We told him what we had done, and he said well I just ruined my drawers!!  We all fell to the floor laughing so hard. :joy: :joy:
  12. Way to go PIERCE!!!! =D> I would like to see a better photo of the new Quantum.
  13. In the recent FAJ, it says Seagrave, and American LaFrance have placed bids to build seven 75 foot towers. Would FDNY actually go with the American LaFrance towers? Has anyone heard anymore on this? I think it would be pretty cool to see some ALF midmount towers in NYC.
  14. FDNY's Ladder 14 was a 1984 American LaFrance/LTI 100' Aerial Tower. The Sutphen was a 1980 model.
  15. Hey....I was watching American Choppers, and saw the episode where they had a Christmas party at Montgomery's Firehouse. I was wondering if anyone had some photos of their rigs. 8) 8)
  16. CM36...Thank you for that link!!
  17. Yes, they had two Sutphens that were 1981 or 1982 models. One of them is now serving in Rolla, Missouri. 8) 8) http://www.rollacity.org/fire/images/l31.jpg
  18. Glad to hear everyone is okay. The rig can be replaced!! Lives can't.
  19. ROTFLMAO!!! Is it because I moved, and now Bedford's Tower is 1st due? :-k
  20. This is Truck 561 from Grapevine, Texas. (Photo is property of Task Force 7)
  21. That's not the only thing x635 has HI-JACKED!! My Euless Tower 552 is missing again!!  :-P :-P
  22. What does it do? :-s :-s
  23. Interesting!! After reading that though, I have to ask why would someone buy a Quint if they're not going to use it for what it is? In the article it says they don't use the pump, and never will. Also what is the purpose of a 10-man cab when only 2 Firefighters respond on this rig. To me it sounds like the right hand didn't know what the left was doing!! As for the Quint being dangerous. I can't answer that. Although the Fire Dept. that my Fire Academy worked with has a 1999 ALL-STEER Pierce Quint, and they've never had any problems with the rear wheels steering on their own.
  24. Here's some photos from Fort Worth, Texas (aka COWTOWN) Truck 1 Engine 5 Engine 14 Quint 9 (All photos are property of Task Force 7) ENJOY!!
  25. Here's some more from Fort Worth. Engine 2 (The Fightin' 2) That's Headquarters in the background. Squad 2 (This is the Hazmat team) Truck 8 (That's Ladder Tender 8 parked beside the Truck.)
