  1. Well, I would think I psych screening is one in which your true being will come out. There is no way to prepare for it and why should there be? You either got what it takes, or you don't. If you don't, well... Many fields require it now a days. It can be a real eye opener!
  2. Just thought this was something interesting to share with everyone! USS USS New York With a year to go before it even touches the water, the Navy's amphibious assault ship USS New York has already made history. It was built with 24 tons of scrap steel from the World Trade Center.USS New York is about 45 percent complete and should be ready for launch in mid-2007. Katrina disrupted construction when it pounded the Gulf Coast last summer, but the 684-foot vessel escaped serious damage, and workers were back at the yard near New Orleans two weeks after the storm. It is the fifth in a new class of warship - designed for missions that include special operations against terrorists. It will carry a crew of 360 sailors and 700 combat-ready Marines to be delivered ashore by helicopters and assault craft. "It would be fitting if the first mission this ship would go on is to make sure that bin Laden is taken out, his terrorist organization is taken out," said Glenn Clement, a paint foreman. "He came in through the back door and knocked our towers down and (the New York</ ns0:place> ) is coming right through the front door, and we want them to know that." Steel from the World Trade Center was melted down in a foundry in Amite, La., to cast the ship's bow section. When it was poured into the molds on Sept. 9, 2003, "those big rough steelworkers treated it with total reverence," recalled Navy Capt. Kevin Wensing, who was there. "It was a spiritual moment for everybody there." Junior Chavers, foundry operations manager, said that when the trade center steel first arrived, he touched it with his hand and the "hair on my neck stood up." "It had a big meaning to it for all of us," he said. "They knocked us down. They can't keep us down. We're going to be back." The ship's motto? - 'Never Forget'
  3. Just saw that on Jimboy's website. He's looking down on all of you! His light continues to shine, Gina!
  4. Now. what are the town's codes/regulations on having that type of "hardware" on a roof. I assume its a private dwelling. Most places have many restrictions on the placement of satellite dishes! Any contact with the martians, with that stuff? hahaha Beam me up, Scotty.
  5. I am thinking the same thing. I read this again and again and still can't figure it out. I am not in any of the departments and don't know the ins and outs of things but, can someone explain why this happened? If something is denied, then a reason has to be given, no? Denied because of blah..blah...blah. The parents no doubt have an attorney. What gives? "We don't comment on pending legal...Then, this hasn't be settled yet, huh?
  6. I hope the 501 goes through! I will be getting a few of the bracelets!

  8. Well, let's just put it to rest by saying, be careful and make sure the door is closed. Some poor guy had his wallet stolen. Please, no definitions of the word "stolen."

  10. West Haverstraw firehouse robbed as firefighters respond to a call Play the video (07/27/06) WEST HAVERSTRAW - A firehouse in West Haverstraw was robbed as firefighters were out responding to a call. Volunteer firefighters were responding to a house fire on Blauvelt Avenue Wednesday night and left so quickly that no one closed the bay door of the firehouse. When the firefighters returned, a volunteer found that he left his wallet behind and $250 in cash was missing. The fire chief says the crime is very disheartening because the firefighters are putting their lives on the line for the community without compensation. The firefighters are hoping whoever stole the money will have a change of heart and return it. Anyone with information is asked to contact Haverstraw police at 845-354-1500. 11. The one without the stars is nicer, in my opinion. Its a bit too flashy. The next one is really nice!
  12. Nextel troubles here in Valhalla, more so after the tornado. Other than that, it has since straightened itself out. Pleasantville was always a problem for me with cell service. Not only with Nextel/Sprint but other carriers as well. Was never able to get service there.
  13. Looks like he did after all. fufill his wish. Now, the reports say that the property/land is worth as much if not more than the house. Is the wife and daughters still entitled to that? I would say so. There are NO winners in this sad saga.
  14. That Sprain is like the Indy 500 anytime of the day or night. Its amazing that they don't catch more of those nuts who confuse their shoe size with their IQ.
  15. I scored a 20. Anyone else??
  16. Good thing all those names were taken off....Something how he kept such an accurate account of things , or so it seems. Either he has one good mind or a diary that went up in smoke.
  17. Thanks. Its a matter of pointing the finger at the most obvious, we tend to do that, but, right is right. His letter is very informative, there was a lot going through his mind. Also, there are two sides to every story. We heard his, now, where is hers? When we find the missing link ( whomever "we" are) then let justice take its course, if its determined it wasn't an accident. Our justice system will do its thing. No matter what the story, no matter who is at fault, doesn't justify the end result of a very horrible situation for all concerned. Hats off to FDNY NYPD and ALL New Yorkers!
  18. Why he did what he did, you say. He has not been formally charged and the investigation continues. He Allegedly.....is the correct term. Remember, innocent until proven guilty. Read on Fox news on the internet where it says the gas line had been tampered with.....That's why we use the term allegedly....When the facts are in and he is charged, that's when we change our wording.
  19. I have had the opportunity to ride both in the back of the ambulance with a family member as well as riding in the front seat. I was not hindering the crew nor was it a life or death situation. I was just trying to make the family member be more at ease knowing I was there. I was never refused by the crew either time. This was in Valhalla.
  20. Where's The Beef? You can go down to 9th Avenue in the city and get a $41.00 hamburger. Save the gas money and the 18% tip by not going to Florida and buy dessert too! I love NY! WWW.TheOldHomesteadSteakHouse.Com
  21. Best wishes to you both. I don't know you, but I know your photos very well. Great talent!!!! Good things come to those who wait! May you both have a long and joyful life together. G
  22. The article states a lawyer's comments on this. I don't think it is leagally binding. The living will is on her refrig. Well, what if she isn't home. I'm checking to see if this actually occured just out of courtesy. At least this is no abbreviation as DNR, which also means Department of National Resources. A play on words???
  23. Checked the Salt Lake City newspapers and couldn't find anything. however, I did go into the website for KSL in Utah and the story and pics were on there. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=268346
