  1. I was with my old Volunteer Fire department from 1996-2007 at that time I quit the department. I am trying to find my LOSAP infomation and penson information from that time period. Would NYS have some central database?

I haven't receved any yearly update after I left the department, Do I have to contact them and give my current address for future updates.

For example When I was Employed with NYC I got a yearly Pension statement of how much money was in my acct.

I tried to google it but couldn't fine anything just companies that do LOSAP programs

    Thank you

    Chris

  2. When I was in the volunteer service I "had" a blue light and was using it. Then After awhile I stoped. The reason being is I felt it is more of a hinderance and causes panic with other drivers on the road.

When The pager goes off The fire will still be there, Getting into an accident you are no help to anyone.

Also with a blue light you have to obey all traffic laws. So as you have your blue light on flashing away siting at a red light waiting it to turn green. What good does it for you??? It draws attention to yourself.

Stay calm and you will get there....

  3. I am a city of Yonkers homeowner (Northeast Section) and would have no problem to pay a little bit more money to help out the FD and PD. However, with my property taxes along with the City residency tax that they take out of my check. I think the City should be better alocating the money.

Why Should you raise my taxes then cut services. Paying more money for less what's up with that.

Or the city should add a line Item per resident "fire/police tax" where they charge x.xx per person for the service and the money goes stright to that instead of the slush fund.

What about the city taking over EMS and doing 3rd party insurance billing (I have no idea how it works as empress EMS has with the CIty) So far Nock on wood I haven't needed there services.

Just my 2 cents. (or 1.5 after the city takes it cut)

  4. I work for MNR and the only people that ride for "free" is MTAPD and Other Police officers, along with MNRR Employee's If you want to ride for free get a job with MNRR. \

It all depends on the conductors that are operating the train, other then that but your ticket, Why should a conductor risk his job and get jamed up just so you can say "I am on the job, and I don't want to buy a ticket".

  5. I am in the MA Emergency and Disaster mgmt program,I also added a certificate in Terrorism Studies onto it as well.

For Grad school one class will set you back 975 dollars. They also too have the choice to Audit the class too which is only 300 or 400 dollars. The nice thing with APU is you don't have to take the GRE exams.

The Grad class range from 8 weeks to 16 weeks.

At work they give us 4k a year for school remimbursment each year, So my feeling is let the railroad pay for my Masters.

    Good luck

  6. I was also looking into this and with my schedule is crazy, I was looking into getting my masters degree and Check out American Public University/ American Military University. The college is accredided and stuff. There per credit cost is a lot cheaper compared to other online schools. I Tried one class but droped it becuase I haven't been back in the school enviorment in about 10 years.

Also With undergrad work with APU the textbooks I think are included in the class fee.

If you want anymore info PM me
