As a classmate and friend of ARod's, I can say that ARod embodied all that was great with the fire service. Antonio was always appreciative of all the opportunities the YFD gave him and would never fail to give back if given the chance. He always had that look in his eye of a grateful person, somebody who truly understood how lucky he was to be on this department. Well it was us who were truly lucky to have met and worked with you, ARod. RIP

I love the guy checking out the hydrant while smoking a cigarette. That sums up the operations of the whole video...undisciplined. It starts at the top - the chief not doing what he's supposed to be doing(IC), and trickles down to this disinterested fellow connecting to the hydrant in a rather casual manner. (I hope he didn't burn his jeans with the ashes) There seems to be no sense of urgency throughout the video, no matter how edited it may be. Thankfully all are apparently still alive. Hopefully many will reconsider their firefighting future.

What else do they look for aside from your ID and snoop around looking for you?
Phone bills, utility bills, license and car registrations, etc. YPD does a pretty thorough residency check. They also check in with the neighbors of the address you have given them. If you don't live where you say you live, I don't recommend trying.

Holy Cow, there must be a lot of work up there that I never hear about. There are more Rescues located in this corner of Westchester than are located in New York City. What's the manning like on a daily basis? Seems like overkill to me. Did these departments use the same formula for apparatus purchases as Nassau and Suffolk?
