I don't see the need for them,,,,,, And who iinsures them???? What if they severely injur or kill someone when responding????? Someone wrote they aren't dispatched ,they use scanners ... I'm not a lawyer but pretty sure that won't go over to well in court !!!!!

I don't get it........... In my eyes, if your not doing anything wrong ,than why worry about being stopped!!!!! It's for your safety and the safety of other boaters ..... Now ,,,,,,these are probably the same people who will stage a protest when someone godforbid is boating while intoxicated and kills,or injures someone they know and will state that there's not enough enforcement and it could have been prevented.............. ***INSTEAD OF A PROTEST.......NEXT TIME YOUR "BOTHERED" AND YOUR BOATING TRIP IS "INTERUPTED".... Saw Pearl Rivers Hook and Ladder TL-12 today. On the side of the truck it displays a pretty cool saying---- "Professionally staffed by volunteers".... I dont know anything about that fire department but i hope they live up to that slogan..

I just want to make something clear. I did not post this to have it turn into the usual debate that seems to be the outcome of many posts on here.. My def. Of professionally staffed is- To perform your duties to the highest of standards, and to always act accordingly, and to be looked up to... In a "professional" manor.. And if this is the way the dept. Runs whether it be paid or vol. Hats off to you. As a Vol. FF (who always acts in a professional manor) haha. I thought that was very nice to see on a truck. -- just MY opinion..

I don't post much on this sight, but I do visit it and read all the time. But when I came across this article I had to share it on here to see what others think of this. I totally agree with TR54--- I feel this is not good for the fire service at all. There has to be smarter ways to go about this. Maybe fines on the spot for having no, or non working smoke/fire alarms... Blocked entrance/exits over crowding etc... But to bill people for. Working at structure fires is crazy... What if the tables were turned and now the home owner sends a bill to the FD for opening up a wall at an electrical fire, water damage to carpets/ floor.......dirty carpets!! It could snowball into really bad things for everyone! Just my opinion

That is Utility 51 its a 2002 chevy utility converted to R.I.T. operated by members of the fast team. also engine 98 responds with u-51 when fast team is called.

Not sure why asking if anyone knows how many people took the test is being LAZY... people ask all sorts of questions on here. Isnt that what this site is for?If you look at it from your point of view this whole topic should have been stopped after the first question the answer would have been CALL THE WC CIVIL SERVICE AND ASK....
