  1. I'm sorry, I very rarley ever go to the city basicly never but I would not spend $100 on boots for a homeless person I would buy something cheaper just to cover his feet knowing that the guy could be robbed or sell the expensive boots. Just my honest opinion I do believe that the officer did a good thing for his gift. too bad the guy prefers to be barefoot

  3. Dutchess County is known as "Emergency Response"
  4. I'm sure acts of similar kindness are made everyday but many LEO's but it took the eye of a tourist to bring it to light. One of the few times a spectator takes a positive picture of a police officer instead of a negitive one.
  5. It's walmart this time but many other companies are just as guilty

  7. What I, we all could do with $550 million dollars! But if you hit the jackpot would you stay in your emergency service that your in now?
  8. Almost looks like it may go to an underground storage tank
  9. We would like to see any apparatus you want to share. If you have any scene shots we would like to see that too. It's always interesting to see how others do things outside the US. Thanks again.
  10. LEO's whats your opinion to have to wear glasses if you normaly don't wear them. Especialy when people have surgery so they don't have to wear glasses. I'm all for the officer having video documentation, just wanted to know what kind of device you think is best to record evrything. Utah Police Might Have to Wear ‘Cops-Eye View’ Camera Glasses http://www.theblaze....camera-glasses/
  11. Double tragedy in the town of Newburgh last evening leaves 2 dead in separate incidents. Just before 17:00 crews responded to a hunting incident where a person was declared DOA with police taking 1 in custody. The Plattekill & Cronomer Valley fire departments assisted the police with crime scene & victim removal. About 19:00 while still on the first call both departments responded to a boarderline alarm at Rt 32 & Mill St for a serious 2 car mva where they found 1 car split in half with 1 person ejected in traumatic arrest and others trapped. 5 people were transported 1 by Hackensack Air 1 to Westchester Med. * On Saturday evening both departments also operated at a 1 car mva at Rt 32 & Mill St where the vehicle was unrecognizable and 1 person was ejected a total of 3 were transported from that scene Two-car crash on Route 32 in Newburgh leaves 1 dead, 4 injured http://www.recordonl.../NEWS/121119648http://www.recordonl.../NEWS/121119648 Man fatally shoots fellow hunter in Newburgh, police say http://www.recordonl...1119650/-1/NEWS
  12. This company has been in Chapter 11 protection since January, for bankruptcy and the employees decide to strike with the company threatening to close it's doors if they did and now 18,500 are to be laid off for the holidays. Not too smart on behalf of the unions. As much as it sucks to get paid less, I would rather have a job with less money than no job at all.
  13. maybe they should donate to a NY fire department that lost everything
  14. story with photo from NBC news http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Newburgh-Car-Crash-1-Dead-Route-32-Orange-County-Audi-180076761.html
  15. You have reached 911, press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish, 3 for JUST CONNECT ME ALEADY!!!! After reading this topic last night I tuned into Wake County and caught a structure fire, it was interesting something that would take time to get used to but it does take away any sense of urgency to a call with no emotion given during the dispatch.
  16. From Facebook - Sound the alarm! Chicago Fire's been picked up for a full season!
  17. I told them to replace that strap!
  18. I have not been there however, In todays world where anyone who has a phone can take a picture of course you will see photos. Are the jobs being handled? appears to be, is there also some down time from what I hear - yes - I don't see an issue with people taking photos as long as they are not breaking department guidelines or the department where they are stationed request not too. I believe it's good to take photos to show the destruction people are seeing, it gives an urgency of exactly how bad it is. So as you may want to sit with your feet up (example only not picking on you) others may want to document their experience. This also is documentation that you can bring back to your department for validation of you and your expensive piece of equipment to be down there. Just my honest opinion.
  19. As xfirefighter484x said, Arlington 32-45 & Millbrook 49-31 relocated this morning to L.I. Fairview (Dutchess) also sent an engine and Nathan said Olive FD is also down there
