  4. In Mohegan, each rig is replaced every 5 yrs. Our newest rig was purchased in 2004, which replaced our 1999 and we just signed contract to replace 1 of our 2001 rigs.
  5. No biggie...didn't wanna see anybody get confused
  6. Just to clear things up...Mohegan does not run any tankers. All our engines have a maximum tank capacity of 500 gal. This because mostly all our district has hydrants except for, obviously, the TSP.
  7. In Mohegan, the Town of Cortlandt water dept continues annually to paint blue maltese crosses in the streets i/f/o hydrants with an arrow pointing to the hydrant. In a few areas, there are red flags also mounted to the hydrants. On the Town of Yorktown side, the water dept. has put either red or blue reflectors on the hydrants. If I had a digital camera that worked, i'd take a pic...
  8. As soon as I saw the news footage I was enraged at how the media could show the house and street...I feel for the family and the neighborhood as well.
  9. Ah yes...i hear from her once in a while.
  10. Sorry Seth! The new utilities are in fact used for ems response. The vehicles are equiped w/ first response ems equipment and an air pack w/ spare bottle. U75 is located at the JV Station and U80 is located at the Furnace Woods Station. The reason to purchase such vehicles is to cut down in everyday wear and tear on the fire apparatus responding on ems calls (approx. 2,000 per year).
  11. The NYPD results are usually mailed back with 1-2 months. From there, the medical, agility, oral and written psych dates are assigned. Also you will be assigned an investigator. The next academy class is scheduled for January.
