  1. I can't see anyone using lights and siren returning to quarters after an alarm. how is driving back to your own firehouse to park the rig any different than going to park in someone else's house.
  2. Valhalla Engine Co. #1 will have a "wetdown" for our 2004 American LaFrance pumper. The date is 5/27/05 at 7:30pm. Location is 1 Entrance Way, Valhalla NY. All are welcome. Stop by if you can.
  3. I think the days of a real "WET"down are behind us all. I invited e-86 to come, since they let us take it for a spin while deciding on an ALF. They are bringing e-86 with them. this worries me. But I feel it's all good as long as no one gets hurt.
  4. Date:4/28/05 Time: 16:47 Location: 35b windle park c/s main or franklin Frequency: 156.225 Units Operating: 2461,63 E76,77,78,79,80, T37 Description Of Incident: fire in condo Writer: vfd2483 17:03 2461 REQUESTS TL-38 TO STAND-BY AT FIRE HDQTS. 17:38 TFD UNITS PICKING UP, RELEASING TL-38 SHORTLY.
  5. Let me clear this up a bit. first off the med center does have their own staff trained to set up and run the decon. When we trained it was side by side with nurses, stat flight's crew, maintenance and a few administrators. the problem is we don't know who will be working the day of an incident. so we are assuming we will be doing most of the setting up. IF WE ARE NOT INVOLVED AT THE SCENE OF THE INCIDENT! as roeems points out. as far as time - it takes about 20-25 minutes to set up. the water for showers is heated by the propane tanks that you can see in the pictures. let's all hope we never find out how well this system will work.
  6. The WMC is in the Valhalla FD's district, therefore we have the responsibility of setting up and assisting with the decon. We have trained on the setup and use a few times. There was a order to the way items were stored, so that we would be able to setup in a timely fashion. Now i will have to see if thats still the case. by the way the setup will work, but westchester county deserves a better, permanent facility.
  7. The new engine is eng 84, the fire commissioners were thinking higher resale value getting rid of the engine so early(10 years). the second engine will replace 20 year old engine 82
