  1. I dont see the point of bashing EMTBravo, or anyone for that matter. If being on this site makes you think of negative things, then i guess its not a healthy site for you to be on....so get off! common sense just isnt at all that common.
  2. Nice pics from brewster/patterson. 11-2-1 is huge, without that mechanical stair, its hard to get in.
  3. KME's are nice. My department has a few of them and were getting another one that is being built right now from what i know. They seem pretty reliable, theyve been OOS a couple times due to problems but nothing major, from what I know.
  4. I think its very well written, and you make very good points. I could never understand why firefighter got so much s*** for drinking, and then getting stereotyped for being drunks. Ive heard stories from old timers in my department about guys passed out in the back of the ambulance at a fire, sure s*** like that happened. But from what I know, that s*** isnt tollerated anymore. Good points on how any one drinks (doctors, lawyers ect.) reguardless of yout title in society.
  5. Theres no argument that seatbelts DO save lives. My car, or whatever motor vechicle I am riding in (firetruck, ambulance or a car) I always have my seatbelt on before that vechicle is in "D". I have (as im sure a lot of you have) seen countless RMA's and many minor injuries from MVA's from people wearing their seatbelts, and just say they didnt chose to, im sure a lot of them would have been airlifted. I do think that is should be a Department policy to wear seatbelts when responding to calls/going back to quarters, however if someone doesnt I dont think they should be give a fine for it. Especially a volunteer fireman. These peoploe risk their lives for no other reason other than they want to help, and I think its nothing short of bullshit that this guy or any guy gets imprisoned for not wearing a seatbelt.
  6. Its interesting. How many trucks crash v. how many catch on fire. Where I live, it is fairly common, if not a daily thing to hear a tractor trailer rollover on the entrance ramp of I84. Very few of them are on fire. What happened there is like something out of movie. Or at least I think so.
  7. What could that have been hooked up to to get water. It might just be me, but I dont think ive ever seen any hydrant connections with a 12" diameter. I wonder what the pumper for that looks like.
