  14. do you have a link to wat you are talking about? haven't heard anything about this.... no one should be bashing the city on this job, it was a great job all around, and yeah I am going to say it, if it had happened in north stamford would it have been the same result? who knows.....
  15. I have seen a lot of pics from this fire.. great job protecting the exposures by the Stamford City brothers.....it could have been much worse with the close proximity of buildings and the wind..

  17. sorry I do not have a pic.. second vehicle was a honda CRV with heavy damage, total removal of the drivers side (doors & b post) was required to extricate
  18. is there automatic aid coming from fellow volunteer fire districts? the biggest concern is staffing why cant the 5 districts combine into one? there should be no excuses for rigs not getting out or staffed I can not speak for all volunteer departments in the area , but in Trumbull (one of the busiest all volunteer depts in the area) can get 2,3,4,5 trucks out around the clock staffed, then stamford should be able to. Start taking out of town members, find people that do not work days and could provide some staffing by letting them sleep in the station.. etc if the volunteer members in stamford truly do not want to get taken over, they should be making all the effort possible to prove the city wrong.

  23. Our speed lays on the squad are wide and require our 1 3/4" lines & 2 1/2" to be packed 3 across. We currently run 200 feet and is packed 2 layers, a loop, 2 layers, a loop and then the nozzle on top. When the firefighter pulls the line the idea is to grab all 3 sections across and attempt to flip the line so the nozzle is on the bottom. This does not work very well. Anyone have an idea for a better way to pack this hose? I am almost thinking to somehow make the speed lay less wide somehow and then pack the cross lays minute man pack if I can not find a solution for the current way Anyone have any good hose packing tips for triple layer? nozzle 123 loop 123 123 loop 123 123
  24. thank you for clarifying, I guess I associate sprinkler systems with the same kind of set up as in a commercial building
