  6. None of this is legal if the Union does not want to fight it then a court injunction is in order. This is totally illegal.
  7. Just a little food for thought click the link great story about the FDNY hiring: http://www.pjtv.com/?cmd=mpg&mpid=373&load=5106
  8. FDMV has 2 channels it uses channel 2 for the fire ground channel 1 is used to dispatch if that clears things up.
  9. does rank in seniority count over time on the job seniority? For Example if a Captain has 4 yrs as a Capt. and there is another Capt. who just got promoted but has more time on the job overall then the Capt. who has 4 yrs who gets demoted? MODERATION NOTE: this discussion was split from another topic which had finished it's usefulness.
  10. No what I am saying is when it comes to demotions it should be time in rank people sacrifice time away from their children and families to study for the test it is hard enough to get a promotion when the 4/5 rule is in place that throws away 37 questions on a test. No one said anything about layoffs
  11. It should be time in rank
  12. Demotions that will only save the City 180,000 for the year are on the table as of today.
  13. Just out possible 5 Lieutenants, 2 captains and 2 chiefs possibly to be demoted
  14. that's what it sounds like to me Jack which is BS
  15. Where is the IAFF and the almighty president that collects our money and where are the other locals stepping up to bat and joining them in thier fight. We are all to blame here if we dont help the brothers in Beacon out and show up to their city council meeting
  16. The guys dont like it? Its the other way around!
  17. Don't be happy R-1 is not what it used to be it is only a driver and an officer and does NOTHING Police ESU has taken over the calls what was once the pride of FDMV. Lets see if this new chief gets the calls back and restores the pride

  20. TL-1 has not ran correctly since day 1. I do not recall it even making it through 1 whole month without some sort of mechanical breakdown. Is there not a lemon law when it comes to fire apparatus? Seagrave should replace this truck I do not understand how they could get away with selling a 750,000 truck and it have so many problems. The City spent good money thinking they bought the best perhaps they should of done more research before they made the deal. We are all disappointed, all show no go on this one. I hope seagrave reads this because they really built a piece of garbage and should be ashamed

  22. We thank Yonkers for lending us the truck. You must also thank the FDMV union board and members for sticking together through this tough time and thank the union for starting to make some progress. Lets hope everyone can stick together and keep the pressure on.
  23. Even when mutual aid shows up to Mount Vernon all they do is overhaul unless the fire has spread to multiple structures or a big apt. building or factory then they will go to work. For all of you armchair quarterbacks all you are doing is disrespecting the brothers in Mount Vernon. No doubt the City treats us like s*** but we have and are some of the best firefighters in the state. We are not the only ones that are understaffed, have bad rigs and the other problems that go along with it including mutual aid. Corrupt politicians and bad leadership is what creates these problems all of this BS on here isn't doing anything but disrespecting the firefighters of Mount Vernon both black and white who take pride in what they do..
  24. What liability will it be on a line officer if he rides out with the engine company at this time?
