  1. Its like this all over Westchester!!!!! Look at Ardsley, They just got a nice big new firehouse(not saying they didn't need it) and now they want a 105' dual axle truck with a pump!!!!
  2. And that school was closed b/c of a snow day!!!!! LOL They blew the horn for us when i was little on snow days.
  3. Hey Tim How long did it take to be built and the whole process of specing it out? Also what was the price tag? Thanks
  4. We had a fire like that once. If thats what you want to call it. LOL.It was in the winter so all the windows were closed, and when the family ran out they closed the door behind them. No water was used, Maybe a little bit from a can. Alot of smoke and heat and it melted the microwave that was a room away from the source.
  5. Use a point system!!!! And inforce it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. For a football game to take place at the High School level in NYS there has to be a DR at the game(The funny thing is the Dr dosn't have to be a sports med or even a ER Dr just any MD will do) Also an AED(People trained to use it). I do not know about the ambulance. The game i was at on Saturday the ambulance left the game as a player was down on the field and the Dr and trainer were working on him.. The bus turned on its lights and everybody on the field was thinking it was going pick the kid up, but it left the grounds to go to a MVA( I was told) PD was at the game got on the radio and called for a bus.I was told later that the player dislocated his elbow, and that they put it back in place and splited it. Turned out that one of the staff on the players team was a cop or something b/c he pulled up in an unmarked crown vic with his lights on and took the player to the hospital. So I would say that The ambulance and crew at this game were not out of service for the game.
  7. Was this before or after the bathroom trip?!!!!LOL Those things run right through you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I agree!!! I seen a chief in his truck over 200 miles away from his Dept(and it wasn't Lake George) Is he a Chief then?
  9. I like the red bumper? Anbody now how long they had to wait? or how long it was put on hold? or when it went on the line to be built?
  10. So they can save money and buy new fire trucks!!! LOL They do not need them in the city( Hemi)the v6 is ok for them Its a city with alot of traffic and not many open roads. Like the the old saying. You can out run my car but not my radio.
  11. Is that a steel roof? I know up north alot of the new construction they are using those types or roof. What kind of problems do you run into with them? Are they harder to vent? How do you vent them? When and if you do dose it make the roof less stable? From the pixs the fire can not vent itself due to the roof. It looks like it blowing out some kind of vent, and the back under it. Just trying to make this a learning post.
  12. From what I could make out County Pd with help from Yonkers PD were doing a crack down on street racing. They had the bird in the sky telling the ground units what cars were involved and where. The racers even had cars to stop traffic on the parkway and from getting on the parkway so they could race. That would account for all the arrests. Could be wrong.
  13. Good job from the brothers at WPFD Local 274 http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...UPDATE/80821009
  14. All I see in this article is Nicholas Scoppetta patting himself on the back about how "He" got the response time down and not giving any credit to the dispatchers(I could only imagine how hard and crazy of a job that is in NYC. Thank god for you guys!!) and the firefighters. Also didn't the union try to use the response time argument when Scoppetta and the City started to close firehouses? Looks likes Scoppetta is trying to justified his case.
  15. Nice Truck!!!! Goodluck with her!!! How did you guys work it out with ALF with all problems they had? Was it delayed any time? and if so how long? Are the ALF orders going out? are they back on line? We have one on order and they keep pushing back the date. Its been over a year now for us. Thanks
  16. Okay you 'red-blooded Americans'.. let's see how you do on this Test: 24 out of 30 is considered a passing grade. Supposedly 96% of all High School seniors FAILED this test... AND If that's not bad enough,50+% of all individuals over 50 did too!! Take the test and be surprised at what we don't know. Good Luck!!!!! http://games.toast.net/independence
  17. That B/C the PD comish was a NYPD cop and was in the gang unit for some time and I think he did some time undercover in a Asian gang,(could be wrong)so he knows what its like to be a cop on the streets and to fear for your life, not just some friend of the mayor who got the job.!!!! Lets see Deputy Fire Commissioner Deborah Norman put on gear and run into a burning building!!!!! She would s@#t herself!!!!!!!!!
