That is a sweet looking Engine. But why only one Air horn? Is that from the LA County spec?

I love the look of the rear of the rig. Thats a place I have never seen a rear flasher before. I like the look of the chevrons, it gives it a some what of a classic look but while still maintaining the safety of the chevrons.

i heard 174 will be the spare and new 176 a front line engine...

i believe E-174 before the purchase of the red pierce was the spare and E-175 and 176 were front line rigs... if i am wrong please correct me...

That center red light is actually a third "Brake Light".

More information on the new Engine soon.

Was the red engine a demo or was it a emergency purchase. The new engine is very sharp looking good luck with it.

I was hoping you were gonna say that. It would be a strange place for a rear flasher - we have low rear flashers on our BC cars - right at eye level, and we have a toggle inside to shut them off when accessing gear from the back. It's pretty annoying when they are on.

Yes Chris , the red one was demo by Pierce CAFS Foam pumper. FFD needed it a hurry.

A lot of places have only one air horn. Saves $$

I have seen a rear flasher before. I can't remember if they were KME or Pierce. Governors Island had twin engines delivered in early 1993, and they had a flasher in that same spot. It was a strobe, if I remember correctly.

That makes sense, and in a developed area.

Hey Tim

How long did it take to be built and the whole process of specing it out? Also what was the price tag? Thanks

Looks AWESOME! I love the color scheme, it really looks sharp on the KME "LA County Spec" chasis.

Will the new Engine 176 be stationed at Station 1 or Station 2?

I hope to have the oppurtunity to photograph it next time I'm up that way!!

Looks very nice.

Be careful how much sunlight it gets; that my rippen it up to red also. J/K, we get razzed all the time about our trucks colors too.
