  2. Effective as of last night, the new officers of Mamaroneck EMS are: Captain: Nikki Deshensky 1st Lieutenant: Brandon Ganaishlal 2nd Lieutenant: Jason Capalbo 3rd Lieutenant: Greg Werner Congrats and best of luck to the new regime!
  3. Very nice rig, and as Squadco said, very similar to our engine in Croton. I really like the lower hosebed, and the chrome paneling on the side of the cab. Good luck with it!
  4. DO Miss it?? I think you forgot a word in there, Rob!
  5. From LoHud.com Congratulations and Good Luck to Inspector Fuccillo!
  6. Wow... You learn something new every day!
  7. The new Phelps ER is amazing. The first time I saw it, my jaw was dragging on the floor as I was getting the tour from a nurse. Everything is laid out nicely, plenty of space for patients, a nice EMS "lounge" and restock area. They really outdid themselves. To add on to what Capt Nechis said, Soundshore has also done some recent work to the ER waiting areas. They now have a seperate waiting area for pediatrics off the main waiting room. The new holding beds are nice, 6 in total, but they aren't in view of the nurses station. Other than that, the only gripe I have about Soundshore is the lack of ambulance parking! Also, White Plains has moved the EMS entrance back to where it used to be at the bottom of the ER parking lot, but inside the ER is still the same.
  8. Attention Moderators... PLEASE block this thread from any of my fellow VA Employees... I could think of a few who might make this for dinner one night!
  9. I think the really scary part is THIS TIME he got caught... How many times though has this individual, or even anyone else pulled someone over and gotten away with it. I think we've found the newest inductee to the Fox 5 hall of shame...
  10. While I'm not disagreeing that the sun doesn't drown out LEDs, it is a little hard to tell off of a still picture. With the variation of intensity in some of the different flash patterns, you may or may not be catching it at full illumination.
  11. If anybody wants tickets, PM me or VAEMC!
  12. Nice looking truck, not a big fan of slicktop design for fire vehicles though... The big positive I can see with it is with no exterior lightbar, it cuts down on drag, therefore improving fuel mileage. The big negative, which I feel outweighs the positive, is lack of 360 degree warning. I'm not saying it's not there, but it's always going to better with a full bar. I'd rather be safer than gain a little bit of fuel mileage, but that's just me!
  13. I think a lot of it also has to do with the flash patterns of the LEDs. Seth, in your video of the ambulance, everything on the right side alternating with everything on the left side might not be as effective as something like alternating the first, third and fifth with the second, fourth and sixth lightheads... Not sure if it's ever been studied or not, but something that might work a little better.
  14. I couldn't agree more... Down in Mamaroneck EMS, our older ambulance has an MX7000 bar (rotators), Strobes on the grille, and headlight flashers. Our newer one has an LED bar with outboard strobes, LEDs just below the headlights, and hideaway strobes in the front turn signals. I usually find that people move over sooner for the OLDER ambulance with the different types of lights... I also think the most effective thing on the older ambulance is the headlight flashers. Those make a big difference.
  15. Try reading previous posts....
  16. Sweet... I've actually got a question for anyone who watched the "minisodes" over the summer.. Did they have anything to do with the storyline from the last season, or were they all just completely random?
  17. Depends on where you go... I had red taillight strobes in my old Dodge Avenger and got a verbal warning for them by a DEP Lieutenant. Also, I've had my stones broken by an officer in my own town about having them in my Mustang, and again by a Trooper on I-84 while stopping to assist at an accident.
  18. Awesome video. I saw either a Larchmont or Eastchester ambulance in there. Couldn't figure out which one it was though.
  19. Now that's the kind of job I'd love to have... Although I'd be chroming out and opening up the pipes on the bike... Not sure how well that would go over!
  20. Damn, I totally forgot that was last night. I wound up spending the night at Kitty McGuires in Wappingers... Had I remembered, I would have come up! Damnit, Nate, Why didn't you call me!??!! lol
  21. Chief Flynn, I agree with you 110% Also how I have felt about many other of the nonsense rambling that has been going on throughout other threads! As I stated earlier... THE HORSE IS DEAD, YET PEOPLE CONTINUE TO BEAT IT!
  22. You've got plenty to spare... Why don't you donate some!
  23. Oh yeah.... one more gripe.... "KEYBOARD COMMANDO'S??????" Are you for real? I can't even comment any further on that one, because I know I'd be kicked off the forums for saying what I want to...
  24. I gotta side with EFD184 on that one.... That is one of the most ridiculous comments I have ever seen. And not for nothing, THE HORSE IS DEAD... STOP BEATING IT... I've kept my mouth shut on numerous threads that run out of control like this but now it's getting so frustrating I couldn't stop myself from chiming in. And I'm sorry if I offend anyone, and moderators, feel free to say something, but this is getting out of control! A simple question was asked about people's opinion on using the waist straps. And from the VERY FIRST REPLY people started getting defensive toward the subject of the picture. No matter what is said on any forum, some people have been set in their ways for so long, they will not change them. Is it right, wrong, or indifferent? Well, in most cases, that's left up to the individuals opinions. Just as long as it doesn't put a life in danger. It's getting to the point where a picture can't be posted or a discussion started without an out of line attack or comment towards an innocent question or statement... The one thing everyone has to remember about reading stuff online is YOU CAN'T ALWAYS JUDGE THE CONTEXT IT WAS SAID IN!!!!!!! In most cases here, it's not going to be taking a shot at anyone. So everyone grow up a bit, and think before you get so defensive! Oh yeah, and QTIP!!!!! Thats my rant!
  25. He was standing over my shoulder as I typed that... Exact words from his mouth!
