  1. Shawn, there sending out one or two of the Paid firefighters to every EMS call, unless obviously they are tied up doing another call. On the serious calls you get the Engine and Tower Ladder to the scene until LVAC gets there. Its to put more manpower on the scene if needed. It works pretty well, and I think the reason they bring the ladder is if they should get another call , nobody has to run back to get the ladder truck. Its much different down there then up in putnam.
  2. whos turn is it this year to take one for the team
  3. Like just about everyone I feel if its done right then it is a good idea. I have never been " officially" in dispatch, but I get to see the end result of what difference a dispatcher has made using the EMD.
  4. well now it being a male dog you didnt clarify just how he "attached" himself to your leg, and were you sure that was doggy slobber??? just messing with ya because you didnt get too hurt..

  8. Sweetie dont want to be with you anymore, but tie me up and lets have sex one last time.....you know which brain he "was" thinking with.. unlucky and lucky man
  9. Well if the dispatcher has a good head on thier shoulders they would dispatch both FD and EMS to the call, and advise them on dispatch that there are unknown injuries and that a PD unit is enroute. If the PD unit gets there and there are no injuries and no need for the FD then they can be cancelled. Up here in Putnam for the most part they do send PD, FD, and EMS, and if not needed they are cancelled. So if I was the dispatcher I would send them, another point to bring up is the scene safe or not, for what ever reason, you can always have the FD and EMS stage until it is safe. and I mean this in the way if there is a PD safety issue.
  10. Your just jealous that its not yours anymore...HE HE HE just realized thats an updated picture of the truck, and it looks like me wheeling that bad boy

  13. Unless they come up with something new, there is a cross band frequency to 46.380.. but you wont hear it down in New Rochelle. It seems to work best on the Peekskill side of Westchester County. I travel dowm 684 quite a bit and very rarely hear anything on it, and when I am down your way i dont hear anythin on it at all. I would have to figure out which one it is in my radio if you really wanted it..

  19. Patterson Fire Department is awaiting delivery of a new PL Custom Type III Ford F-450 Ambulance, to replace there current ambulance.
  20. Larchmont VAC has ordered a PL Custom Ford 2006 E-350 Type III Ambulance...
  21. Shawn, I agree with you about the age thing, again there not breaking any laws. And I guess you havent been stuck on an EMS call waiting for the Ambulance from anywhere to show up for God knows how long of a time. so I guess 16 is better then no one showing up. But again I agree about the age limit. Come ride along with me some nights ( not all of the time, and things are much much better) youll see what I mean. And not to mention there are some "older" drivers that shouldnt be driving...let alone driving an ambulance
