  1. A couple of operational questions if anyone is able to fill in the blanks...

I see that an Engine 315 was special called. I guess that's with recall personnel, right? Was that an additional engine or did it too bring special resources.

With E313 tied up at another alarm, how do you get the foam unit deployed?

During the incident, the YFD put an engine a ladder and battalion into service. E315 was the engine. It was staffed with recall personnel.

We were finishing up with the other fire and B1 asked for the foam unit. I released E313 and they picked up the Foam unit. The foam unit was the converted Engine not the Hackney.

  2. Looks fairly compact, no?

I think that's the angle in the photo. (I told Joe Pinto that I should have done the spyshot with my camera phone but he got all annoyed and called me an amateur.) It was huge in person. They are in the process of re-building the opening of their quarters (Shonnard Pl) so it will fit.

  4. Here's a silly question, this fire was less than 4 miles from the NYC/Yonkers border, how come FDNY wasn't requested mutual aid??

For Mutual Aid, Yonkers first goes through the County of Westchester Mutual Aid Plan. The County maintains the list of which southern Westchester Municipality provides the first, second etc. Engine, and then for the Ladders. NYC is called after the departments on the list. It's not a slight to NYC, we participate in the County plan for mutual benefit.

  5. Absolutely Onthewheel.

Yonkers FD had a campaign in the late 90's to correct the block segments in our CAD Geofile and had violation sheets which we would give to homeowners when they didn't have visible or adequate address numbers. The sheets explained the reason PD/FD/EMS needed to see these numbers day and night and gave the code requirements.

It's definately a problem all over...

  6. Once wraferty installs the machine you're all invited for coffee. "It will be the EMTBravo Roadtrip Breakfast". Andy from Slave to the Grind will supply us with his best grind. Oswegowind will let you all know the location from the GPS signal we emit. 61Mack: I'll give you advance warning so you can make the trip. Moderators: you better shut this thread down before we get in trouble lol.

  8. Thanks Chief Dunn for the great photos of your New Batt 2 Truck. I especially like the New B2 Logo (Did you design it?). Any chances of getting a Photo of the New B1 Logo? (Is it similiar or a completely different design?)

Chief Hammer and his son designed it around the "2" which I believe is from the US 2nd Army patch, which his aide wears and became popular with the other members. The B1 patch will not change.

And about the "Mr Coffee machine" - that's the TIC charger. We prefer the coffee from "Slave to the Grind." lol

  9. I like the side bed compartment. Is it the same on the other side ? and.... can we see the rear storage area ?

    Please....

The side storage areas are similiar. They are boxes only accessible from outside. We will put HT, TIC and Sawzall batteries there.

The rear compartment is unfinished at this time. We may add a bed slide eventually but in the meantime we will just place our equipment in there.
