  1. Most of New Hackensack's members were on a dinner cruise for the 60th anniversary. Hence Hughsonville's coverage of New Hackensack. Bill may have been on it as well.
  2. Patrick Swayze maybe?
  3. Here are a few pictures I took back in March of 2008. They don't, however, give you the greatest idea of its size.
  4. I dropped Nextel back in January and picked up the Bold 9000 with AT&T, and I would recommend this phone to anyone. I know that Goose mentioned that he had some problems with them, and everyone knows that Verizon's service is the best you can get pretty much anywhere you go, but I have been very impressed with my service. The phone itself is phenominal, and I have service everywhere I go including the Adirondaks where service can be quite spotty. I did run into a problem when I was down in Brooklyn a few weeks ago while I was walking under the BQE. Other than that I had full 3G with no dropped calls. I haven't had much experience with the iPhone other than toying with my friends', but everyone I know that has one loves it. I know that the problem with MMS messaging is supposed to be fixed with the new iPhone which I believe comes out in August. Good luck with your decision. Let us know what you wind up picking.
  5. Please do not attack a brother or sister because he or she is not an affiliate of a paid agency or municipality. We are all here to learn from each other (paid/volunteer or both). Please do not belittle a member of this site because they do not get paid for their dedication to their community. This entire thread calls for speculation, and no one can be wrong here, regardless of affiliation.
  6. I know E273/L129 have the Mets pinstripes as well. Did they need a letter too?
  7. I too do not feel that this is a union issue. In one aspect, Paramedics choose to put themselves through the schooling necessary to perform the job and take a spot in a commercial ambulance agency for average pay. In another aspect, the oppertunity to be a civil service medic in this area is slim to non-existant. We (north of NYC) have the luxury of having enough commercial ambulance agencies that it isn't necessary to hire municiple paramedics. This keeps the cost down, which keeps their pay minimal. Consider a volunteer FD. If you can get people to volunteer their time, why spend money to pay people for it? In my opinion the same is true for EMS. If you can contract a commercial agency for a marginal cost as opposed to paying your own (mainly unionized) people much more for the same job, then why not? I think it is an abomination that medics make as little as they do. Maybe the question isn't why is it so difficult to make a living as a medic, but how can we make medics more appreciated in order to earn a better living?
  8. Wap medic 2 08:00 -00:00. Merry Christmas.
  9. It hadn't even been completed yet. From what I heard they hadn't even put the dry wall up yet. It was basically empty, so luckily there wasn't much of a fire load in the building.
  10. Calm down, Chief, juniors can go on calls
  11. Is this for a commercial ambulance service?
