  1. Scorch has been "extinguished." Back to the drawing board for a new mascot.
  2. They are the "farm team" AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames out of Canada. They were looking to connect with the city and I'm sure they meant no malice. They did not name the team after the Glens Falls Structure fire of the 1800's.
  3. There is a video of this car on Hudson Valley Fire Equipmemt's Facebook page. As previously stated, the Chief was able to build the car to his own specification. Every other chief vehicle in the MKFD is very clearly labled as such. Does it really matter what color the car is painted? For the record, this car does not belong to my company and the car could be labled more clearly but it does have a ton of black reflective striping. Not everyone in MKFD wants to "buff." The other black chief vehicle owned by the Mutual Engine and Hose Co. looks just like the white car owned by the Hook and Ladder Co., only the vehicle is painted black. These are my views and I am not at all speaking views of my department.
  4. It looked like it was ok when we were operating in the meeting room. I feel terrible about the Willys, it was sad to see it burned out in the back garage. Im glad that we (Mt. Kisco) were able to come and lend a hand in putting out the fire. I wish for a very speedy recovery to your Fire House. Stay strong guys, hopefully things will be back to normal, or at least a new normal asap. Thankfully, nobody was injured, the house can be fixed... Stay strong Brothers and sisters! Ray Zaccari
  5. The two Engines in the pictures shown are the current front line Engines out of the Independent Fire House (MKFD Station 3). Engine 105 (2013 Seagrave) has a fully LED lighting package. All the lenses are the same color as the LED's behind them. Engine 106 (2007 Pierce) has a mix of LED's, Strobe and Halogen warning. Hope this clears up any questions.
  6. Exactly what we were going for, glad you picked up on that! Thank you for your input...
  7. When my company was out at seagrave we were able to see 34 in the final assembly area as well as a mid mount 75' from what the rep said. They seem to be very nice rigs. The new lightbar is interesting and it looks pretty bright. Best of luck with the new rigs!
  8. The 1000 gallon tank made the truck far too large for our back roads, this truck should fit the profile we need it for. Like already said, the other engine we have is much larger. Tight driveway rig... Hey John, we actually got Brett to smile once... Couldn't get him to go out though... Lol
  9. Had a great time, best of luck with her!
  10. hahaha I heard that about him... Just kidding buddy!
  11. You are correct, GMC includes more, but the price is about $1500 more for the base AWD model. I just like the look of the GMC more.
  12. Seth, I have a Terrain and I really like it. I have the 4 cylinder model and it is suprisingly powerful. Not so much off the start, but it likes to cruse about 70-75 mph. I get 25+ MPG and it is suprisingly roomy. I have fit 5 guys in it (guy in the middle not so comfy). Ive also fit a 46" flat screen tv in the box with the back seat folded down. The rear seat is on rails too so you can slide the seat forward and back. I would recomend the truck to anyone.
  13. Haha I remember this one....
  14. We did just come, thank you for the hospitality... Q's was awesome as always...lol
  15. Couldn't have said it better myself...
  16. Couldnt have said it better myself buddy, I had a guy who was hit with a .22 round in the leg and he was in pain, and I could just imagine a .40. Ever been shot with a bb/ pellet gun... makes ya stop for a minute when ya get hit with it.... why wouldnt the rider attempt to notify police prior to his 3 mile ride, and or RMA until convinced??? Just my 2 cents
  17. Wait a minute... your video producer not putting something out in a timely manor..... lol hes been busy putting out big foias
  18. Thanks Mike, glad we could bring it to ya, made for an easy trip/day!
  19. What a nice engine.... Congrats Mike, wish ya the best! Now give us our truck back! (when its fixed)
  20. I personally would like to answer the VAC officer being medically trained with a question. Should an airplane pilot have any formal training, does a MD need to go to medical school... and so on. If you are in a VAC and not medically trained... well... your in the wrong business... If you are a line officer and not medically trained you are a hazard and an insurance no no... nuff said
  21. HAHAHA I tried, no good... lol There is county owned eguipment circulating around that I sure they have lost track of, in that case they will just buy more cool, but worthless crap... Its just the nature of the beast. I have seen the Field Comm as well as the Hazmat teams vehicles on the road before.
  22. God Bless all who are involved in this. I am very happy that the Grand Jury chose not charge those officers with any wrong doing. I do not know any of these Officers personally, but like it has been said cops will only use deadly force when deadly force is used against them.... Furthermore, just for the record, this young man that died was ***20*** years old, making any BAC over the legal limit of 0. He was drunk, under age and opperating a vehicle which attempted to kill a police officer... enough said
  23. Your going to have to take that up with a member of the VAC. I do however know that it is not due to the products lack of craftsmanship or any major problem. They are in fact in the process of purchasing another PL Custom. Im told its more to do with preferance. Further more, when i was an officer in the VAC, i had nothing but good things to say about the apparatus. We had more FORD issues than anything else. I personally am dissapointed to see the new rig go, but again I am no longer a member so it does not really effect me in any way. Anyway, this is getting quite off topic so best of luck Croton.
  24. PL Custom is actually far from a low bid. They are actually one of the most expensive brands that you can buy. If you are looking for low bid, you want something like an AEV or medtec... etc. All of the PL Customs that I know have all been work horses and have lasted quite a while. I have actually been part of a new ambulance build and I found their product and shop to be outstanding. Problems that most people come across with PL are with the power logics system, but stick with the good old fashion rocker switches, and your in the clear. Best of luck Croton with your new rig, and I hope to see it in person soon.
