  1. I just got the Jeep Compas, which is basically the same car. I'm happy with it, seems a little bit underpowered.
  2. I haven't seen any trucks marked "LA County Beaches & Harbors" since Baywatch! The cab foward GMC public works truck, is that from street/traffic light maintenance? Great shots as always. Speaking of Baywaytch, is it still on? Haven't seen it in forever.
  3. YES YES YES!!! more more more!!!!
  4. I agree, try them both out. If the LE forum usafe increases without the password protection, then good. If not, just shut it down. The Special Operations forum would probably see alot of posts.
  5. That is a metal drain right next to the wire, which happens to be a primary.
  6. I'm sure that teh Midwest would agree with Al after all the nice warm weather they have had lately. Remember that Al Gore also created the internet.
  7. Still have the i730. Wish I still had my i90.
  8. do they staff with FFs or with shop personel?
  9. I thought that special dispensation could only come from the state DMV?
  10. What was the Town of Bedford Highway Dept. going to do with it?
  11. Could be the front-wheel drive or better fuel economy.
  12. I have heard the Rushneck up in Tarrytown is good. I got my CR-V from New Rochelle...bad idea. I also went to White Plains and Yonkers while looking for the car and was not pleased with either. Only got it from New Ro becuase they were able to get the car within a few weeks...the other two dealers were saying a few months.
  13. The problem I see here is if we give them red lights and siren, what about Con Ed and everyone else? There has to be a line somewhere. What authority does Thruway have to use red lights/sirens? Same for TBTA?
  14. I think the NYPD trucks have all red lights. TBTA wreckers do, as do Thruway bridge patrol wreckers. However, I don't know about sirens.
  15. should I guess what part of our great land this is from or is the answer obvious?
  16. People have to make a living. I don't see anything really wrong with it, side work is side work. If someone needs electrical work done in their house, and the FF who is union can do it cheaper then the local electrican who is union, then that is a free market economy. I can see a problem with large construction jobs, but that's a different story. And yes, American jobs - American workers.
  17. as EMTBravo said, posting her is a privledge not a right. People need to allow the man who PAYS FOR THE WEBSITE, and therefore allows us to post here and discuss important topics FOR FREE, to lock topics he chooses. EMTBravo does an amazing job with this site, and that's why there are over 5000 members and more join everyday. We've all seen other boards out there that people take over and it becomes impossible to have a constructive discussion on. No one wants to see that happen here. The site is too valuable.
  18. lad12derff, Just wondering, are you referring to construction work, or side jobs like painting a family room or changing an outlet or things like that.
  19. Mabye now the floors will be fixed. Best of luck to newly elected Commissioner Fennelly.
  20. I know its a scraper blade....What it does, I'm not as sure of, but I think it gets some of the more compacted snow off the ground.
  21. The red unmarked Ford utility truck (9th photo from top) is that a maintenance vehichle? Is that a fuel pump reel I see on it?
  22. They are excellent. My personal favorite Christmas song is "Do They Know It's Christmas" by Band Aid. Close runners-up are "Happy Christmas" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" by the Barenaked Ladies (listen to it...it's great)
  23. I wish there was a site with that.
