According to a recent article in the Journal News, the $500,000 cost of this new engine was supposed to be paid for with funds from the Hyatt Corp. redeveloping the Kings College property. Since that deal recently fell through, so did the funding for the engine. However, since the engine has already been ordered, the village will draw from its general fund to pay for the new E-94.

The money from Hyatt was to go to the purchase of a new ladder truck (TL40). The village paid for the ladder and would receive 500,000 from Hyatt after the first Certificate of Occupancy was given. The ladder truck lost the funding since Hyatt pulled out of the deal and now the village will be stuck with paying the total cost of the ladder truck. Hyatt was not paying for any portion of Engine 94

Semi off topic, but any plans for the old Engine 94? And while I'm on the subject, what happened to the old Ladder 40? Thanks.

Old 94 will be probably auctioned off at some point and the old ladder was donated down south after Katrina last year.
